MCU: The Marvel Cinematic Universe Official Discussion - Part 5

Kang doesn’t make sense to me as the primary villian for Phase 4 since he’s another cosmic villian like Thanos and Marvel doesn’t want to repeat themselves. The next logical place to go is smaller and more grounded and Doom is a far better candidate as the Phase 4 villian as he’s an earth based chsractee who’s more cerebral than Thanos.

Doom is also objectively the better character and can prove to be more than a match for the Avengers with his just his wits alone. And you can get him to steal the Silver’s cosmic powers or go the Secret Wars route and make him God Emperor Doom.

exactly

he ties so many threads as well

magic stuff with strange
science and cosmic stuff when the F4 get introduced
geopolitical stuff with latveria (more than likely capitalizing on sokovia's destruction)

he just works

Personally I find Dwayne Johnson to be completely overrated, so I can’t say I find this news enticing in any way - but I understand that I am definitely in the minority.

Now that's intriguing. Is Dwayne thinking of playing both sides of the cbm street? I'd love to see him as Blue Marvel or even Namor in the MCU. Namor, definitely, wearing that tiny green Speedo. The Rock's thighs are my OTL, after all. :hrt:

I'm starting to doubt well ever see him as Black Adam and maybe hes been told something by WB so that he can start looking at other projects.

He just plays the same guy in every movie. I wouldn't be against him joining the MCU in a one off role though

Kang makes sense to me because of his obsession with timey-wimey shenanigans. No matter how careful The Avengers were in avoiding space-time paradoxes, we all know that Kang is going to take issue with their actions. He's the type of assclown who would prefer that half of all life be snapped away to any time travel to reverse the carnage. Since Kang is related to Reed Richards through his own weird timey-wimey nonsense, he's a great connection to the FF. I look forward to seeing the hypocritical SOB in the MCU.

Yeah - a one off role would be my preference, assuming this pans out. A cool villain, maybe. But he always plays the hero in every film, so I guess that’s unlikely.

What was this about Marvel TV not making anymore shows, LOL! I loved Ghost Rider in AoS, so happy to see him getting a show

Hopefully this is a sign of an eventual resurrection of some other shows down the road since they're expanding their Hulu partnership :cwink:

I smell a Blade series on the horizon... hopefully these show are mature.

Absolutely, Gabriel Luna's Ghost Rider was really awesome and certainly on Hulu they can go for a darker horror tone which would be pretty cool. I think you are right about this being a sign that Marvel is going to rely on Hulu to bring some of the more adult-content to the screen. My only hope is that this division between Marvel TV and Marvel Studios disappears over time.

I think we're all hoping that being on Hulu can maybe afford the Marvel TV vs Marvel Studios division to die out. But yeah, this tells me Hulu is doing the adult themed Marvel content. So hoping these shows succeed and re-open the door for the former Netflix guys to come back in a few years. I want my Charlie Cox Daredevil back!

Best news I've heard in awhile!!! Hope they bring Gabriel Luna back as he was awesome on AOS!!!

I would be shocked if they didn't. I'd assume they'd use another character, like Danny or Johnny, if this were not him.

Wow, not excited or happy about this at all. This essentially seals Ghost Rider's doom to be away from the MCU forever. Now we'll never see him in the movies. Why is Marvel TV still a thing? Does Feige have a say?

Well, there you go

Perhaps it is more connected that you think :o
