Hi all, very cool, very vast forum here...puts other forums I belong to on other subjects to shame.

Welcome! You too are one of us...:sly:
Certainly agree she is doing good in expanding her range, unfortunately I'm not much into those movies... I would love however to see her in a romantic comedy! :drl:

Thank you for the warm welcome :jd:
A romantic comedy could be interesting - IF she isn't playing to type as a Kara Danvers wallflower.

If I was her agent, I'd try to find her a role as a criminal, maybe a drug dealer - as diametrically opposed to the Supergirl role, maybe one with over-the top violence like a Tarantino movie, as it would break any industry conceptions that she is solely a cute, funny little daisy acting on CW teen hearthrob shows.

I don't think it would upset the demographic fan base of 9-12 year old girls since the film would likely be R-rated so they couldn't see it - though the other major fan base that makes up a large percentage of her demographic, males aged 25 -55, would likely applaud it.

We would not! :argh: We'd be upset like those 9-12 year old girls! :argh:

Ha, it might break some hearts of those middle-aged men LOL...at least the ones who see her more as a daughter than as an attraction.

I am old enough to have lived through Adam West, Nimoy and Shatner's long years in the wilderness because they could not get out from under the massive weight of an iconic role; take a look at Nimoy's books, "I am not Spock", "I am Spock", etc.

If I am certain of anything, I doubt Benoist wants to spend the next 35 years of her life after finishing a solid 5-7 year run as Supergirl earning 95% of her income from comic-con shows signing autographs and taking pictures with lustful middle-aged men, and doing voice-overs as "Supergirl" for TV cartoon comedies like the Simpsons.

She is a good actress, and can handle a pretty diverse set of roles - if she is willing to take some risks.

Now that being said, I do not know what her CBS/CW contract allows; it might prevent her from taking certain types of edgy roles so she might only be able to go so far before the studio enforces the contract and prevents her from accepting such a role. That is a question someone with more industry experience than I would have to address.

Have you seen "Patriot's Day"????

Her agent is doing a fantastic job of making sure she isn't set in characters like Supergirl.

"Patriot's Day", the mini series "Waco", "Lowriders" etc....have already taken care of that.

Scene from her upcoming movie Sun Dogs:

I enjoyed the scene. Good payoff at the end.

I don't really know anything about the movie, but I will have to look into it.

Well accoridng to IMDb

Following his third failed attempt to join the military, courage-obsessed misfit, Ned Chipley, takes a Marine Officer's advice to "protect the home front" a little too seriously. Determined to find his purpose in life, Ned Chipley zeroes in on a casino manager, who may or may not be an Al Qaeda mastermind. Chipley enlists the help of a young runaway named Tally Petersen; together they form the most unlikely anti-terrorism unit of post-9/11 America in SUN DOGS, a tale of love, friendship and homeland security.

Looks like Melissa plays Tally Petersen.

Now if only Supergirl could kick Al-Qaeda, the Taliban and ISIS's asses!

Well, it looks like something has been uncovered...SUPERGIRL'S FIRST FLIGHT!

1st time flying. The helmet was totally necessary. And cool?

Link here.

Look at that form though...LOL!

That must be an interesting moment in an actor's career :yay:

Great stuff.

if that was her first time using the ropes that's pretty dang good

Her 'run up' needed a little work, but as soon as she was up, her form just fell into place. Then she went off frame... I wonder if it was the camera man's first day too...:cwink:

Yes. Yes you are... Now, let's put this straigh- I mean jacket back on, nice and easy...:loco: Nurse, get the meds!

LOL, I'm not crazy having these powers - just never told anyone. Until you. And everyone else here. :cwink:
