Most disappointing movie expreience of your lifetime

The Dark Knight...........yeah I said it. After the trailers, the hype, the fan reaction, I was so sure it was going to be the greatest geek movie ever made. I give it 8 out of 10.

That's exactly the problem with Wolverine. It's not an abomination in any shape or form, but it was just so damned mediocre. Same with Spider-Man 3. These movies have a bigger potential than being brainless flicks with plot holes and tons of CGI. That's what's annoying about such movies.

Exactly. And one thing that was so frustrating about Wolverine is, we'd seen a dark, edgy superhero movie in The Dark Knight, and Wolverine could have/should have been more in that direction, with Wolverine as an edgy anti-hero....except Wolverine wasn't an edgy anti-hero, he was a soft-hearted do-gooder who never acted 1/100th as feral and ferocious the entire movie as he does in his first scene in the first X-Men.

I felt sorta like that. I enjoyed the build up and anticipation more than the actual movie.

Still a great movie though, but not really enjoyable if you know what I mean?

@Arya

I thought Wolverine was much better than X-3.

X-3 was a jumbled mess. Why try and cram two of the biggest mutant storylines into one 90 minute film? If they picked one or the other it would of been better.

At least Wolverine knew what it wanted to be, just the execution wasn't brilliant. And I liked the action scenes in Wolverine more. The final battle in X-3 looked like it was on a sound stage.
Fair enough. I thought both were more or less on the same wave-length.

^^I thought X3 and Wolverine both sucked.

But at least Wolverine was not a jumbled mess.

The only times Logan was really Wolverine were in his introduction in X1 and of course the mansion scene in X2 which is ****ing awesome. And the bar scene in X1. And when he attacked Jean when she was looking over him. I think all around, Logan in X1 was the most wild. I loved him running through the mansion. Like a lost animal and it trying to find a way out.

They'll never do an R Wolverine film, but if I was directing, I would push the PG-13 rating. There just HAD to be blood in them. And not for the sake of it. It's logical sense. When a man with three adamantium claws stab into you, there is going to be blood. Kids can handle blood and violence fine.

^ I would disagree about Wolverine not being a jumbled mess.

I don't see how Wolverine could be called jumbled. It was a pretty straight forward narrative. Maybe TOO straight forward and formulaic. Up until the end anyway.

But the silly overbearing and overprotective parents can't.

I liked Wolverine more then X3. I'd give Wolverine a 6 and X3 a 4

^ I agree about it being formulaic, but it just seemed to have a bunch of scenes at random: one scene with the team, the carnival, the old couple, the Gambit fight, Scott Summers, "Deadpool"...it just felt like they were putting things in to "please fans" without thinking it through.

OMG I forget about Ghost Rider, that was a major disappointment, I think it may be the greatest

The Soloist. I was expecting that movie to be so good, considering it had two amazing actors in it and it was just sooooooo boring and I was looking at my watch the whole time wondering when the damn thing would end. Oh, and also the DaVinci Code. What a great book turned into such a piece of ****.

And for those of you who like older movies, The Great Gatsby. A great classic that just failed on every level whatsoever.

Most disappointing film experience: Star War Episode 1

This film taught me a very valuable lesson, trailers and hype mean zero. I was convinced this was going to be the movie event of my lifetime, instead I got a 2 hour film about some ridiculous trade dispute, starring an obnoxious CG character and a bad guy who does sweet F-all, WTF? Notable mention is Batman and Robin, a film that left me so shocked and speechless as to just how bad WB screwed my favourite comic character that I actually thought I may have just imagined it all.

I say Moon last night, and I'd have to say I was disappointed. While I'll admit, Sam Rockwell did a hell of a job acting-wise... the movie really didn't do much for me overall.

Why? Well...

I saw the preview for this, and I expected it to be more of a psychological thriller with some sort of alien intrigue. I knew that Rockwell would find some alternate version of himself on the moon, and I figured that the main dilemma would be whether or not this other Sam was real or a hallucination.

While I know that it's never a good idea to walk into a movie with expecting something based on pure speculation, I was at least hoping for something more interesting or original than the old "you're actually one of a million clones" plot. While the film is much better than some previous exercises in the clone genre (Schwarzeneggar's awful The 6th Day comes to mind), I still didn't feel like I was seeing anything new here, other than an interesting performance from a lead actor playing two characters who were both different and the same.

Rockwell deserves a lot of praise for this because a lesser actor would have made them both too similar or too alike, but somehow he gets it just right. Unfortunately, the story couldn't live up to its lead actor, IMO.

I would also have to say that the film was tedious for the first hour or so. I know that was kind of intentional to show Sam's isolation, but a low-key plot, teamed with a robot with the most mellow-sounding voice ever conceived honestly could leave you fighting the urge to doze off.

But the silly overbearing and overprotective parents can't.

Exactly. Parents are too overbearing when it comes to this. My parents let me watch PG-13 movies when I was 5 for God's sake. I believe you should introduce kids to GOOD movies very early on so they can appreciate them more.

I felt similar, although it wasn't that much a disappointment since I liked the movie.

But I got sick of everyone going ape**** over it really ****ing quick. So much that it'll probably be years before I watch the whole thing again (I watched parts of it a few times on my campus movie channel after it came out on DVD).

Phantom menace
star trek 2009
casino royale
quantum of solace
die another day
spider-man

Wow, you would think you would learn your lesson by now???

I saw Sunshine last night, very disappointed. The movie had me in its grasp until it decided to become Event Horizon Jr.

I remember walking out and there was still some hype left , it took a couple days to sink in what actually happened.

Go Phantom Menace! Show 'em how it's (not) done!

Huh? The trailers made the movie look crappy and guess what it was! I wasn't surprised.
