Ms. Marvel in the works? - Part 1

Well Mar Vell has never worn a domino mask and I hope they don't change it for the sake of Ms.Marvel.

Thats true, if they set the movie up with her sort of taking over for Mar-Vell, and like in my idea instantly taking the mantel passed down to her by him giving her his costume and powers, then she would just do what he did. So, for example, in my idea he wears armor and a helmet like the ultimate version, then when he passes his armor to her she would end up wearing a helmet until its knocked off her and then she wears no helmet and no mask. I don't think Mar-Vell would wear a mask or helmet at all, unless they do something like they did in Fantastic Four the End where the Inhumans say they wears masks because they are too human looking. Some sort of cultural thing, maybe the non blue skinned Kree must wear masks. But I like it better that he wears no mask and so then Carol wears no mask either.
Plus its a realistic way to give the actor more screen time without having them take off their mask all the time. Like Thor when he removed his mask and then suddenly never had it again, or Captain America were his mask was blown off in the Avengers. It would be better if it was more like Thor in Avengers or Hawkeye or Black Widow, they just didn't have masks or helmets in the Avengers.

I keep thinking about all this though using my own idea, so I am a little skewed in my thinking, because its just a little possible they wont use my idea exactly.

But there are tons of good reasons to have her have no mask or helmet (or have her loose the helmet like in Thor 1). Mostly her character in the comics now has no mask. (except in space.) Carol now walks around in costume with his face completely visible without a care.

I'm here with that. This is one of those things fans trumpet but get over very quickly. It gets more criticism when played straight, like people thought the mask was in TDKR (it was actually just the padding/rest/frame for her visor, not a mask, functionally).

What other characters would you like to see in a Ms.Marvel movie?

Agent Brand, Director of SWORD. and maybe a cameo from an Avenger like Hawkeye or something.

Just a quick thing I made to see how my Captain Marvel design would look next to the rest of the Avengers, for when she ended up in the Avengers movies.

So Ms. Marvel is Brittany Spears? :cwink:

How does the costume look with a predominantly red look like Mar Vell

She doesn't really look like Ms Marvel to me there. And that colour scheme with the star on her chest like that just makes her look like a variant of Captain America, like maybe a movie version of A-Next's American Dream, aka Shannon Carter.

Yeah, the Blue and Red doesn't work, and even inverted she just looks like Iron Man. She's not going to look like Ms. Marvel, which is fine, because she's almost assuredly not going to be called Ms. Marvel either. Let her look like Captain Marvel. Which can bring that white/silver/green/black/starfield color scheme, which will definitely stand out against all the other Avengers.

Michael "Ace" Rossi - alternate 'bad' love interest
Rick Jones - cool kid with a heart of gold
Monica Rambeau - Just cuz I like her
Cidren - To set him up to be on Earth for SWORD
Peter Quill - Just to establish that they know each other in case of future space exploits.

I think she would look fine and distinctive in her original Ms Marvel uniform. I don't like the white and green colour scheme and don't think it would look like Ms Marvel either.

It's not the problem of red and blue, it's Artistsean's design with the placement of everything that just doesn't look like the character at all. She won't look like Iron Man if she has her original costume. It's only because Artistsean has drawn her with that circular chest piece, shoulder pads and what looks like armour.

Forget about the original Ms Marvel outfit. Shes not gonna wear a bathing suit. This is a good thing btw. And if they go with something similar to the new captain marvel costume, they probably wont include the red sash.

Exactly. None of the Ms. Marvel uniforms fit with Carol Danvers' story or personality, and she's not even called Ms. Marvel anymore! So,having her look like Ms. Marvel is a pipe dream. She naturally would look like and be called Captain Marvel. She will look like Captain Marvel, because he is her only logical reason to dress in anything except military issue gear. It's logic, Spock, I thought you'd like that.

Edit: Here's a random, what if the skin parts of the costume were yellow instead, to go with the thunderbolt

The blue isn't meant to be blue. I didn't finish that in photoshop. Its meant to be dark and maybe gray like Thor's pants or Hawkeye's dark parts or Black Widow. The star on her chest is meant to use the original Captain Marvel design, as well as the reddish color. As well as her current new look. Sort of wrapping it all into one. Since we wont get each version and probably wont get Mar-Vell for long. The suit is meant to be more like the alien armor that Mar-Vell came to Earth wearing or like the ultimate Mar-Vell which the cartoon Avengers used.

Perhaps I should have worked on it more but I just don't have the time.
I agree that we will not get her original Miss Marvel costume, or her black and gold Miss Marvel costume, we will most likely get something more like her current Captain Marvel costume. What I was hoping to do was to merge all the iconic version so that nothing would be lost. Who is to say that she wouldn't change her armor to a different costume. Also I was trying to make it look different than Black Widow's costume.

Man, the costume is a serious problem because the Captain Marvel (Danvers) is awful, the Air Force's Captain America, and Green and White? Seriously? Marvel presents the Great Garden-Centre Girl! Still, nothing is as horrible as Supergirl's new costume. I only just saw it the other day and:barf::doh::barf:is all I can say to that!

Remember that IM is yellow now so she can go mostly red like Mar Vell's. Needs to be mostly red with the accents being really dark blue or black.

I would rather it's not black just to avoid the standard black catsuit elements (even if sparse) that all females seem to wear. I prefer dark blue but not really dark blue.

The accents like up on the shoulders, gloves and boots not the suit itself.

How about something likes this, as a starter outfit? Before she gets something more colorful down the road.

That looks pretty cool (except for the Sinead O'Connor look of course :cwink:)

That's the tack I would take too. You did good, and it's not surprising that your set up looks like a better version of Carol's current costume, as that was the tack they kinda took. The half-armor, I think, is a bit of a stroke of genius in particular, I think with the right color scheme, it'd be awesome. Obviously I'm biased towards the green and white, but I suspect it could work with others too.

That's kinda what I've been thinking, I would tint the bodysuit green to callback to Mar-Vell and differentiate from Widow and cover the breasts with armor as well.

The suit with the armor pieces seems so generically boring to me like something out of 90's comics. Mar Vell is an alien and can almost wear whatever and it be acceptable the way you can do with Superman. Their aliens so they can deviate from our ideas and conventions. I say take advantage of that to give her a super hero look not some version that looks like itas designed by SHIELD. IM is no longer red but golden armored. She can be predominantly red and it go well with the rest of the Avengers, a supeehero team.
