Transformers Negatron: Discussion Thread for those that hate the way this movie is heading

Nope. They have "freezing" bullets called "Sabots." I just reread the script just now.... and it's amazing how much the commercials coincide with the script... as well as what we've heard of the novelization.

If you want to know:

Spoiler

1) Commandos kill Bonecrusher. He fights with Autobots, but the humans end up killing him.
2) Sam and Megan kill Frenzy. With a shotgun.
3) Megan blows up the "tank" (secret character we haven't seen yet) using one of the commandos' Sabot cannons.
4) The commandos kill Blackout... also using Sabot bullets. This time from a jet.
4) Sam defeats Megatron by using the "cube."

Well, this should be in the movie anyways, right?

I mean, [BLACKOUT]Autobots are protectors, they don't kill...so the humans would have to kill them all, right?[/BLACKOUT]

I thought the Sabots shot out explosives at 6,000 degrees, they tested some kind of heat of Scorponok's tail and it stopped it regenerating?

[blackout]Well Bumblebee kills Brawl from what I read and Barricade and Scorponok just disappear. Also the Autobots may be protectors but they are willing to kill the Decepticons if need be: Prime was willing to sacrifice himself to destroy the cube but he was glad Megatron was the one who bit the big one.[/blackout]

Im not sure how i feel about this film,from the trailers it looks like the Autobots and the Decepticons are both villains and both are against the Earth.

One of the things I was most happy about was the casting of K. David as Barricade. Now all this crap is coming out that he is just doing the voice for the game. Makes no freakin' sense. Get him for the game, and some minor voice actor for the film??? I hate Bay. And co.

You can't please everybody, but if we tried to make a 2007 version of the 1985 animated film, with the way those robots were designed and the story points, I don't think fans would be pleased.

I really don't like them saying what they think G1 and hardcore fans would love. I'd be insulted if i was you guys, but then again, you've gotten used to it by now, Bay, Orci&Kurtzman, Murphy have all said it.

Well, after reading the book, it goes down like this, right?:

Megatron: "killed" by Sam
Starscream: escapes
Blackout: killed by Lennox
Brawl/Devastator/Decepticon tank: killed by Bumblebee
Bonecrusher: killed by Optimus Prime
Barricade: killed by Optimus Prime (this could've been taken out of the script though, but in the novel, Prime kills Barricade by tossing him into a cement pillar I believe, and when he falls, his body is twisted and he stops moving)
Skorponok: don't know his story, just that his tail is shot off, and with his tail shot off, he could've died from it
Frenzy: killed by his own disc

The soundtrack is whaaaaaack. Optimus prime doesn't listen to emo. I wish they'd stuck to the original sound of the theme. Lots of people hating on it - why can't Michael Bay stick to at least ONE bit of tradition.

There is a video circulating on youtube that some people think is legit - but I dunno. sounds like the fans' choice, more than that mutemath soft-rock crap.

Tony Bacala has been doing the Botcon circuit for years now, composing endless remixes of old themes and entirely new ones for Transformers fandom. Why he suddenly drops off the face of the earth surrounding thise movie is beyond me. Either way, all theme music should have been done by him.

Sorry, it's just absolutely ridiculous to me that they got Welker to play Megatron in the movie game and not the movie.

In addition, Peter Cullen appeared at the Anime Matsuri Convention in Houston, Texas two months ago. When asked about Hugo Weaving playing Megatron in the movie, he seemed indifferent to it and he said he would much rather it be Frank Welker. The audience cheered at that.
