New Season 5 Spoilers!

Is it me or his jacket now appears to be, hum....maroon ? :(
LOL@Bruce. The color saturation is off. No wait... it's a bad scan. Poor lighting?

Hee! Don't sweat it, Bruce. Clark's jacket is bright RED, just like his future cape. Well, on SV, anyway. :p

********************

As to the FOS set, SV isn't borrowing it from SR. The season premiere will not in all likelihood be the *only* time scenes are shot there. They wouldn't have sunk so much coin into making it (yes, SV made their OWN FOS set, thankyaverymuch  ). It is reportedly one of the largest sets they ever built for the show.

They are probably the same set. Maybe SR built one closer to home turf. The WB did one of the two. It's either in Australia, or America, or Canada. So one of the three actually. But, it would save loads of money if only one FOS makes sense. So, until WB says other wise it is the same set. Do you know how long two FOS's would take to make? A long time. And ALOT of money.

Hey we have some new spoilers about what happens on the first episode of the 5th season from krpytonsite.

Episode #5-1: "Arrival"
Tentative Air Date: Sept. 22

Guest Stars: Erica Durance (Lois)

Added 6/24/05: Some spoilers have now leaked! Here's some stuff:

Teaser:
- Out of the ship that Lana finds come what seem to be two Kryptonians - Nam-Ek, a "beautifully built black man," and a blond female named Aethyr. Sounds like they're naked, as all Kryptonians are when Smallville seasons begin. So much for that "suit that Clark was going to wear in Superman Returns" rumor, eh?
- Aethyr superspeeds in front of Lana. Lana notices a Kryptonian symbol on the small of Aethyr's back that is identical in look and placement to the one that Lana had on her back in Season 4.
- Lana asks the strangers who they are and where they're from. A military chopper approaches, and Aethyr sends it spiraling out of control, thanks to a burst of heat vision. Then, Nam-Ek uses his heat vision power to completely incinerate the chopper. Twenty armed soldiers approach in Humvees, and bullets bounce right off of the two strange visitors. They then incinerate all of their attackers with their heat vision.
- A Humvee charges full throttle at Aethyr, who grabs it by the bumper and flips the vehicle into the air. After all this commotion, Aethyr asks Nam-Ek where the girl has gone to. &quotShe's of no use,&quot he says. &quotWe must find Kal-El.&quot Lana hides and crouches in the bushes as all this is going on. End of teaser....

A few minutes later:
- Lex comes up from the rubble inside of the cave. His hand is bruised. He walks into the cave's inner chamber, and finds Chloe's cell phone laying on the ground. Lex spots the altar, where the octagonal key is resting. He examines the octagonal key, and hears a &quotYou!&quot from behind. It's Nam-Ek and Aethyr, wearing fatigues stolen from the military people. Lex thinks they're really soldiers, and tells them that everything is under control, and that they're probably needed elsewhere. Nam-Ek asks Lex where Kal-El is. &quotWho?&quot Lex asks. &quotHe possesses the octagonal key,&quot Aethyr says, and in doing something that sounds like the Force in Star Wars, Nam-Ek lifts his hand and the key rockets into his palm. They ask Lex if he is Kal-El. &quotWho wants to know?&quot Lex asks. Aethyr grabs Lex by the throat and digs her nails into his skin. &quotKal-El would not bleed,&quot she says.

And then....
- We see the Arctic tundra, and there's a human figure laying face down in the ice. It's Chloe.

Meanwhile, at the hospital...
- Lois visits the Kents to make sure they're all right. She makes a comment about how they let her have a home before, so the least she could do is to help out when it came crashing down. The Kents smile, and then a shattering explosion shakes the walls. In the corridor are Nam-Ek and Aethyr. &quotTell us where Kal-El is, or suffer the fate of your brethren," they warn. The sheriff fires his gun at them and the bullets fly off. (The script says his, but hey, isn't Nancy a she?) Lois watches in disbelief. Nam-Ek approaches Jonathan. "Where is Kal-El?" Aethyr demands that they are taken to him, that Jonathan would know where he is.
Jonathan is shocked to hear someone saying Clark's Kryptonian name.
- Aethyr reaches for Jonathan, when Lois intervenes. &quotI know where Kal-El is!&quot She tells them that Kal-El is at Fort Ryan and is waiting for them. &quotI'll take you to him right now. But you have to promise to behave yourselves. That means no blowing stuff up. Got it?&quot Lois asks. Nam-Ek and Aethyr each take Lois by an arm. Lois grins, trying to cover her fear.

just when you thought season 4 was stupid enough

Unfortunately, English is the only language I know, so I'll try again. SV has their OWN FOS set. They built it. It cost a pretty penny. And it's apparently HUGE. They *may* have used similar design specs that Singer used to build HIS FOS set, but SV isn't sharing their set with SR and vice versa. They're two completely separate productions taking place on opposite sides of the planet.

LOL... maybe try smaller words? All caps? Smoke signals? ;)

Thank you!

All I'm saying is I'll believe it when I hear an official article about it. It is also within likelihood that Singer's crew traveled to the Vanceuver set. I just don't see WB spending money more times than they need to. SR probably only needs it once or twice, less than SV. So SV probably has one, and SR is using theirs. It's possible. That's all I'm saying. I understood what you said. But, is that documented anywhere? If so just show me and then I'll believe you. Or tell me where to look.

But why are you so willing to believe that it's the same set without official word?

It doesn't seem unreasonable that the WB would allot enough in both production budgets to build their own FOS's. Perhaps they do share design elements, but it's much easier to believe they are separate sets rather that just one that is shared.

Oopz! I misread the spoiler.

Bummer... I would have rather seen Lex run for mayor LOL.

It's pa kent vs. Lex in the mayor election. So you both heard right actually. And this might be the one of the factors of Clark's andd Lex's breakup. If you want I can post the full episode about that. And I don't know for sure about FOS just think that it's very possible. Not definite, possible.

I really like what ive been hearing lately for season five. Although I hope Pa Kent nor Lex become mayor, I dont think Id like that. As for the whole Chloe situation, why is everyone so positive she will either die or move away? Characters can be added to the myth. I mean Harly Quinn was added to the DC universe after being chreated for a cartoon. Why Chloe couldnt in time be accepted as a character in the DC universe, I dont understand. I mean, its ok to completely rewrite Superman's history ala Post Crisis, but adding in one character is impossible? And dont give me that "she is a crappy character" Supermans comic universe has plenty of them.

I'm wondering if there's a third candidate? How's Jonathan going to run a farm and be mayor? But I guess I can see Lex using the office of Mayor as a stepping stone to a bigger political career.

I had to think about this a bit.. You know what it is that makes me think they're going to off her? Lois. We *know* that Lois ends up as the bigshot journalist, but all along this show has groomed Chloe for that role. I can't see how Lois will achieve that position with Chloe around, and it seems inconceivable that they'd both have the same destinies. Had they never introduced Lois, I could imagine Chloe filling that role, and maybe even taking on the pen name of "Lois Lane." Now that we have a Lois in the SV universe.. I think Chloe is a goner. Not that I want her dead, but I do think her chances of surviving this show have been greatly diminished by her cousin's presence.

I still think, sad to say, but she will go insane like her mom. Alot of the prophesys in that one ep. nightmare, this season came true in one way or another. Chloe saw herself in an insane asylum. Possibly this season will lead her to that? Most namely Lex Luthor???

Smallville from since season 1, have made a point. Most of the people who find out about Clark's super powers (and aren't in the superman mythlogy)(1) you get killed off (2) You disappear "without a trace" (3) You lose your memory (4) Your in a Coma.

So since Chloe isn't a part of the superman mythlogy, and she going to know both about Clark's powers & his origin's. (1) She is either going to die (protecting Clark's secret.) (2) Leave smallville and Lois & Clark behind , and go under a new name in another city. (3) Lose her memory of Clark secret.

I still don't see how that means Chloe will be killed, yes she could be killed, but I thought the point was the Chloe was part of the reason Lois got interested in journalism, and the Daily Planet has room for more than one reporter, who's to say they can't work together? Of course because she is a character created specifically for the TV show, then yes they could at the end of the series off her, I don't see it happening before then, there's no need to, since we won't ever see Clark in the future on SV.

Why cant she just choose a different line of work. Hell she could just go work for Time Magazine at the shows conclusion. Deciding that being a news reporter isnt her cup of tea. So she travels the world working as a photo journalist, writing humanitarian stories (taking a cue from clark). She grows tired of being a nosey reporter and helping destroy peoples lives, so she moves on to something far more positive.
She doesnt need to be killed off, she can just choose a different path then the one she appears to be on right now. She doesnt need to live in metropolis to be apart of Superman lore.

Also, Ksite reports:
While we thought that the order of episodes airing in Season 5 has changed from what was originally reported here on KryptonSite, it is actually the filming order, and not the airing order, that has changed.

"Aqua," the Aquaman episode, is filming after "Exposed" but is still scheduled to be the season's fourth episode. They are still casting for young Arthur "AC" Curry. In a recent interview with TV Guide's Ask Ausiello, Smallville Executive Producer Alfred Gough acknowledged they were still casting. "We've been looking at people, but we haven't found the right guy yet. It'll probably end up being a fresh face. I don't think it'll be anybody you recognize from another show," he said.

They also are saying episode 5-7 will be called "Splinter" 5-8 "Solitude" and 5-9 "Lexmas"

Good point, I always thought Chloe was based more on the Lana comic character who grows up to become a tv reporter (in some incarnations)

Thanks, I really think chloe is too good of a character to kill off. Not to mention its such a cheap way to get rid of her. I mean what was the point of creating her in the first place and giving her so much screen time if they only planned on having to dispose of her and sweep her under the carpet so nobody would even know she existed? Besides, this is Smallvilles universe, they can do whatever they want with her since she never existed before in the first place.

Hey.. *I'd* be happy as a clam (although I always wonder why we assume clams are happy) if they had Chloe do something like that... I just don't think they will.
