Next Assassin's Creed Game Reportedly Set During The Viking Age

From what I read online, China is the location for triple A Assassin's Creed mobile game.

I just hope the next console AC is set somewhere in Asia eXcept for the ones they've already been before.

And btw the Ireland dlc is out neXt month.

Me too! I've been wanting this since Unity.

If that is the setting I'm guessing they're going back to more of an ACII style of world structure, with an emphasis on cities over landscapes.

The setting makes me think of Kingdom of Heaven.

"Withdraw, or we will all die here."

I don't feel eXcited about this rumour, another AC possibly set in Europe? Not eXcited about that. But if true, I hope it is set in a country that haven't been a main location in previous AC games. I feel like AC in France again wouldn't be as exciting as AC in Austria, AC in Spain, etc. I just want other countries to be represented especially in AC where these Assassin's are in every corner of the planet based on AC mythos.

I doubt it. With the rumoured setting, I think with would have cities similar to the last three games but its going to have a huge chunk of areas in which it is mostly trees, grasses and untouched land.

If Richard is a part of this, it makes me wonder if they’ll include John and by extension, Robin Hood in a side quest or DLC. Robin would fit in well with this world, methinks.

It will probably be set up like Valhalla which used regional map hubs: Norway, England, North America. With this new game it would be at least two regional hubs: Europe and the Middle East at a somewhat reduced scale with towns and major cities spread across each hub.

There is a new rumor that next years game will be set during the Hundred Years War (1337 - 1453) in France or Germany.

I would like Germany. I wouldn't be eXcited about France since Unity already featured the country, plus the upcoming Valhalla dlc is featuring Paris once again.

Like I said before, Ubisoft should to go to countries they haven't mainly featured in the games especially the countries that were only briefly mentioned/shown in the other past games, or only appeared in games like Chronicles, the comiXs and the movie. They referenced Genghis Khan back in ACII and the comiXs, but still no proper appearance in the games. Also there aren't a lot of open world videogame series that can go country hopping with every new game.

100 Years War makes sense as a setting, but placing it in the various German principalities would be bizarre. They had essentially nothing to do with the 100 Years War.

Who is the source?

100 years should be interesting since it's ya know...over the course of 100 years. Do we play as one protag who lives through all of it (powered by Ish tech to be ageless)? Or some of it? Or several protege across the whole thing?

Anyone played Wrath of the Druids? I have no plans of playing it. From what I've seen it is really more of the same just with Trading Posts as the biggest side feature. The story is really nothing different from the many regions of Valhalla's England.

Ireland has 4 regions and as I eXpected, it is mostly empty and there isn't a big city. So I don't feel tempted to buy this DLC for the location. Ireland in this game just doesn't look eXciting and I just think Ubisoft could have done better. Maybe they could revisit Ireland someday for a full game and in a different time period.

And the skills tree just get bloated overtime. Its easy to level up but damn that skill tree is probably the largest skill tree I have ever seen and I just ignored 3/4 of them.

Still looking forward for the neXt 2 festivals though. I think thats the biggest incentive for me getting the game @ launch. The Yule/Ostara festival made the $60 dollars worth it.

In going to to play it, but I'm in a bind. I bought the game on Xbox One X and beat it, but now that I've got a PS5 I dont feel like going back to my Xbox One nor do I feel like paying $100 for the game and season pass on PS5, and I just dont feel like replaying the game right now. I'm already trying to finish all the yakuza games and Judgement, Fenyx, Ratchet and Clank, Mass Effect Legendary edition, Returnal, and Nier Replicant. My game list is a bit full without tossing Valhalla into the mix.

A 3rd major eXpansion for the "year 2" has been announced. I'm guessing they are now featuring Muspelheim. I sighed seeing that Ubisoft Forward announcement.

I'm just ready to look forward to the neXt game and I hate how Ubisoft is making this more bloated. Odyssey had eXpansive dlcs as well divided in 2 sets with 3 episodes each. But I feel like Valhalla's dlcs would just make wait longer for the neXt main AC game.

I thought the Ireland dlc was a bit of a waste. As the story was not memorable and they could have just used Ireland for a main AC game and continued the present day storyline with a new protagonist in the past period. But that dlc turned out just to be another region in the game for Avior to clear out. I'm eXpecting Paris to be the same. While Muspelheim could have already been THE dlc for this.

Do we have any indication as to where the next AC game will be set? I really hope it will be Japan.
