Where is Clemson? We went 8-4 winning our last 4 games. We lost 4 games, but adding the points we lost by was only 14... 1 OT win agianst BC and we would have been in the ACC title game. Plus we landed a 5star running back. Most people have us winning 9 or 10 games... Thats a very bad poll.

LSU deserves a better ranking. Maimi didnt show up for their game. WVU 12? They should be in the top 3.

I disagree, I think Florida is gonna be hot in a year or 2.

I think Florida could be hot this year - if (the key word there IF) the Spead Offense is proven effective in the SEC. The biggest victory for Florida was their win over my Dawgs (I am still morning the loss) - however IMO the fact that Florida stayed away from their Spread Offense when playing the Dawgs was very telling.

That Poll is BS - period.

I have no problem putting USC in the top 5, however I dont like them at number 1 - really for no other reason than the fact I am sick and tired of the Brownnosing media kissing USC's ass.

Putting Tennessee 16th is just....stupid.

Well I put USC in the top 5 for sure. USC's defense will be good their offense will have problems but a year or two and They'll be back in the Championship. USC deserved the hype for 2 years!

I couldnt agree more with your tennessee statement, they dont deserve to be in the top 30.

Darth Elektra said:
USC deserved everything!

Absolutly not. USC in no way deserved the talk of being "the best team EVER" BEFORE they played the damn National Championship. The talk was not of the Pete Carrol "Dynasty" being the best ever, or the Program being the best Ever - it was the 2005 USC Trojans being the Best Football Team Ever before they had won a damn thing. Sorry - but that was sickening and unprofessional. I boycotted SportCenter during the entire period they ran that ****.

Michigan, and I'm a huge fan, should in no way be anywhere near anyone's top 20. They have work to do.

No doubt there, Auburn, LSU, USC, Georgia and Texas IMO are the best Programs in the Nation rightnow - they have proven these past 4-5 years that they constantly bring Top Teams to the field, year in and year out.

UGA and Auburn will be very close talent wise, but I will take Richt over Tuberville in coaching any day.

In fairness, Tubby has a winning record over Richt. :o

Seriously though, Richt is a very good coach  ... but do not forget the recruiting prowess of one Rodney Garner. You are correct, AU and Ga are usually fairly evenly matched, almost like mirror images.

Hypesters discussing college football in April. Ah, it warms the heart. :)

Well personally I disagree.

lol, yes Tubby does seem to have Richts number, at least for now. :)

Oh, no doubt Garner is the man - I was sweating bullets when I learned he was considering going to the Saints this year. The entire staff at Georgia, from Mike Bobo(QB), John Easom(WR), Neal Calloway (OL/OCord), John Fabris (DE/ST), Garner (DL, Recuiting), Martinez (DB/DCord) all do a great job. Before I blew out my knee I use to go to UGA Football came every summer, got to meet all of the coaches (and actually practiced under Garner and Calloway) - I have nothing but respect for them all.

So calling a team that has yet to win a National Championship the "Best Team Ever" is a good move? It is not being biased when reporting the National Championship? If Sportcenter did the same special, but comparing 2005 Texas to the great teams of the past, I would have less of a problem - but they didn't.

Thats pretty cool, it is a great staff. I'm sorry to hear about your knee. Were you a OL? Garner played and Calloway coached for Pat Dye, who as I'm sure you know was All-American at Georgia. ;) SO much history between the two programs. When we play ya'all its like wanting to beat your brother, sort of a "friendly" rivalry; nothing like those Crimson bastards we play the following week. :D

Your arguement sucks imo.

Yea - OL and DL, blew it out Spring of my Freshman year at HS. Only was able to play at the end of that year - hopin to start Sophmore year and then once again got sidelined first day of contact. I walked away after that and now coach little league football. I am grateful though - playing line gave me an excuse to eat and be a fat ass. I have slimed down a lot since then and generally a much happier person.

The Auburn/Georgia rivarly is one of my favorites - a true Southern Tradition. Pat Dye played for Georgia, Vince Dooley coached at Auburn, the constant upsets keeping one team or another from getting an SEC Championship, the home-team losing curse that seems to happen, the Uga V attack, everything about it is what College Football is suppose to be.

Darth Elektra said:

It does? I think the argument is very sound - how can a team be called the "Greatest Team Ever" if one can not even claim being the "Greatest Team this Year"? And how is it proper for ESPN - whose job is to offer fair analysis of the games - to dub one team "the Greatest Team Ever" the week before the National Championship Game? It was unprofessional by ESPN.

Exactly, Ive only been to one of the Georgia vs Aurburn games but the atmospehere was great! Thats the best thing about the SEC conf. they have such great rivals.

I went to the game in 04 - one of the greatest atmospheres ever. And the Auburn fans couldn't of been nicer. Go to a Florida/Georgia game and the fans are out for blood. At a far different end of the spectrum I very much enjoy Vandy v. Georgia games. Vanderbilt fans are so very respectfull and Georgia fans seem to attempt to be less obnoxious during these games. I bleed Red and Black, but I can admit that we have some of the more...spirited fans you will find.

Ive never been to a Georgia vs Vandy game but I have been to the swamp a few times and yea there fans are deadly, but hey thats what there suppose to be. I went to a Tennessee vs Florida game at Tennessee, and thats a awsome stadium.

My 3 fav places:
Clemson(Death Valley)
USC's, its loud...
And ofcourse the Big House(michigan)

I followed my Dawgs to USC in...98 maybe? Champ Bailey was playing for the Dawgs I know - had to be 98. I remember it being a very nice stadium. Missed out on a chance for Georgia v. Clemson tickets a few years ago - heard it has a very hectic atmosphere - aka perfect for College Football. I love Georgia's stadium though I am very biased.:)

Hard to beat the Hedges  I was there in '93 when you guys had Eric Zeier, dang he was awesome . I might add that Georgia has the best looking cheerleaders, majorettes etc... BAR NONE.

Too bad Ga and Clemson don't play every year like they used too.

Yes, the good ole rivalries of the 80's... I am not old enough to have watched them live - but that is the brilliance of old VHS copies. I truly enjoyed the 2 year Uga Clemson matchup - would much rather be playing them than Colorado who I think we got for the next 2 years.

As far as Georgia's Cheerleaders...thats just another reason why I plan on going to College there. They sure do know how to raise'em right.:)

Well a Georgia vs Clemson game this year would be AWSOME. Both have very good running backs.
