NFL Offseason & Waiting for the Swifties Return Thread

I really like watching the combines. Not because I'm qualified to see whether or not they'll be good pros, but because I'm really impressed with some of these guys' athletic ability. One guy that jumped out at me was an edge rusher named James Pearce Jr. who ran a 4.47 40. While he's considered undersized, I could see him being a sideline to sideline LB. He's faster and quicker (1.56 10 yard split) than virtually any LB tested and outran, or ran with, most of the WRs.

Because its sort of a math thing, I looked at the numbers and, while I won't go into too much detail, if you take a really fast WR that ran a 4.40 40, he would beat this guy by about 20 inches over 40 yards. Pearce ran a faster time than MANY of the WRs who were invited and was within a few hundredths of a second of the vast majority of them. The fastest WR so far ran a 4.30 and he would be just over 4 feet behind him after 40 yards. Dude can flat out fly for a lineman.

DK Metcalf has requested a trade.

there are a lot of big names out there right now

Seahawks traded Geno to the Raiders for a 3rd round

Oh god......kicking the can down the road.......again.........
Im sure they'll draft a QB.

If Sanders is there at 6 I would be stunned if they didn't draft him

They may go QB. I don't "think" Sanders will be there, but, if he is, I agree completely with you. If he isn't, my 3rd QB is Jaxson Dart and I don't see him lasting until round 2. QBs generally don't don't last that long in the draft. The position is sooooooo important that a lot of teams reach.

Some "professional" (moron) out there had Sanders going to the Jets at #7; which made me wonder if he wasn't maybe stationed in NY. I think this same guy had the Raiders going RB at #6. Dude needs to find a day job.

Interesting thing I learned about that #3 pick from the Jets that the Raiders traded away is that it was NOT the Jets #3 pick (which is what I thought it was). It was the 3 pick the Jets got from the Lions. So instead of getting the #73 pick, the Seahowks got the #92 pick from NY. The Jets kept their own, higher pick in the Davante Adams deal with the Raiders. (Hope that makes sense).

Essentially, the Raiders traded Adams for Smith a year down the road. That actually makes the trade sound a little bit (but not much) better. :funny:

Garrett sign 4 year extension with the Browns!!!! I am pleased lol

Yowza!!! I wouldn't want a trade either. Whatcha think @Spider-Fan? THAT is some major bank......

EDIT: LOL Missed it by "that" much.....

I thought the Seahawks would draft Jalen Milroe (QB, Alabama) to learn behind Geno Smith... now I'm thinking the Raiders may do that, and take him in the second or third round.

If Shedeur is at 6, I expect them to take him... but who knows.

My impressions get pretty heavily swayed by the combines, but I didn't much like what I saw from Milroe. I thought Cook, Dart, and Shough all looked much better. His touch throws are below average. He might fix that and become an outstanding QB because when he airs it out, he looks good, but he needs more work than a lot of other QBs.

I didn't watch this year. I did hear Dart was sharp. I also saw reports/rumors the Raiders really like Milroe. But those reports... can never be trusted lol.

I wouldn’t be mad with Dart. I can't give an honest opinion on the others. I've watched Dart/Milroe both in college. Milroe has way more athleticism... if he gets in a good system and sits a season or two, he could end up being pretty legit.

Right now I see the Raiders Draft plans as a Flow Chart:

IS Sanders is Available at #6?

Yes? - Draft
No - Proceed to next option.

Depending on how things go in FA, I could see Jeanty or McMillian being options

It’s funny to go to various fansites where people lack all common sense and emotional maturity. I keep hearing people whose teams were destroyed by Deion 30 years ago saying “Shedeur will still be available in the 3rd round. And I still wouldn’t take him.”

So silly
