so technically the only reason why robin is not in this movie is because begins and Dark Knight take place in the same year??, so technically if this and begins take place in the same year, then as for now, they have been sticking to the comics, original continuity, not year one, so technically, robin would have to be introduced in the next movie, if you wanted to be completley accurate and definitive to the original comic continuity!

thats where your Completely wrong, the character is completely essential to the batman mythos it separates him from other heroes, after Dark knight it's going t get tiresome trotting out the same old lame story line batman's dark trauma boohoo , a new villan emerges, Robin is part of Batman's Growth as a character, always will be ! lets get this STRAIGHT batman as a Character himself has only been with out robin a total of 1 YEAR THATS IT just one year! he was Created in 1939 Robin was created in 1940! robin's with with batman from 1940 to now! hes lasted that Long! many fans love the charcter, year one is REVISED CONTINUITY! all that stuff about him coming in year three is updated! Batman has been with robin from the Getgo! hes part of batman's Major history! so he is essential, lest get that straight!

But that's the comics. Of course Robin is an essential aspect of the Batman character... in the comics. Few would argue that. But in these films - if the reviews are to be believed - Nolan has now crafted two excellent, fully-formed Batman stories, neither of which feels like it's missing something for lacking Robin.

When you go onto a third film, true enough, you need to progress the Bruce Wayne character. But I'd hardly say introducing Robin is the ONLY way to do that. The Nolan brothers are imaginative guys. There's another, equally-enduring central character yet to be adapted, who could fill a similar role of offering a foil for Bruce, while at the same time possibly being a better fit for Nolan's Batverse. Of course, I'm talking about Catwoman. Not saying they have to use Catwoman either, mind, just showing there are alternatives to Robin - it's not the ONLY option for film three.

I'm not totally unsympathetic to your plight though, Freddie. It's easy for me to talk about how the character isn't needed, when my three all-time favourite comic characters - Batman, Joker, Two-Face - are being featured in "The Dark Knight". It must be frustrating, when your favourite character isn't making the cut.

to me Batman& Robin are inseparable, theyre my favorite characters together, they are one a team to, me even when im reading the comics, or the animated series, and batman is on a mission or something on his own, i know that robin is out there somewhere, it feels unnatural to me, for batman to not have a robin in the films! and your a two-face fan?, man i feel bad for you if you dont already know what happens to him in the film!:csad:

they already said no catwoman ( unfortunately) so robin is gonna have to come!

Spider-Freddie, you really need to get over the fact that Robin is unlikely to appear in this franchise. Not saying it's impossible, but it's very unlikely. The director, and even the lead actor doesn't want him in the movies.

And honestly, I don't think the general audience would give a rat's ass if Robin never showed up. Why should they? Only the die hard Roblin fans like yourself would kick up a stink. But you're only a very small portion of the target audience.

So, just stop spitting venom at everyone who agrees that Robin shouldn't be in the movies, mmmmkay? Because you're in no position to call everyone else dumb and ignorant. Back when Batman Begins was released you were absolutely 100% positive that Robin would be in the sequal. You even thought that little kid from the Narrows was going to be Robin :o ;)

Yeah, NEXT! What-ever! Forget what everyone actually involved with the films has said about Robin, they're just all stupidheads. A bunch of comic fans at a convention want Robin in the films, so that means it's gonna happen FOR SURE! :whatever:

Keyser wake up, the fans do matter you sound like a fascist arrogant jerk

Nope no one siade no robin, there are no statements at ll from nolan saying no robin! only idiotic comments from Bale.

He said that there's no place for Robin in these movies, that his Batman isn't in a place, mentally, to adopt a child and make them a sidekick. He said Robin's probably still in a crib somewhere. So unless you think this translates to "Robin - The Kung-Fu Ninja Super-Baby!", then it's quite clearly Nolan saying Robin is, at best, unlikely. Of course, people can change their minds, but right now I'd say Nolan's made his views pretty clear.

As for Bale, you can attack him all you want, but the fact remains that, thus far, he's done FAR more for Batman's cinematic credibility than Robin.

Yadda yadda yadda. Same senseless stuff from Freddie all the time. See you in another 3 years Freddie, after we get a third Robinless movie.

And that's why SM3 was crap cos some fans wanted their favourite character on film and a director who didn't want in the first place.:whatever:

"The fans do matter"..... yet the many, many Batman fans who don't see a need for Robin in these films are fair game to get insulted by you?

No, he was a character that didn't fit into the movie, but who got shoehorned in anyway through studio intervention because whiny fanboys demanded it. Sound familiar?

Robin does fit, i dont really give a damn what you say, and is especially with the way this movie ends, its the Logical next step!

BATMAN FOREVER CINEMATIC HIT WITH ROBIN! NEXT! your clueless its such a joke!lol

Yeah, I can see why you'd like "Batman Forever". They had an inferior Batman. They had an inferior director. They abandoned the successful tone of the previous films. They started a downward spiral which would ultimately kill the franchise for close to a decade. But ROBIN IS IN IT YAAAAAAAY COOL FANGASM!

It seems like you'd be happy with more of the same now.

Eeehhh.....the feeling is mutual. I know how this argument ends. We went through it in 2006. I look forward to you vanishing for another couple of years when Robin is again confirmed to not be in the movie.

Someone missed the breakdown of the movies and how successful they were.

Only Batman (89) was the biggest hit. Inflation taken into account of course.
