Indeed. And anytime you agree with me, you know it's a good thing. That sounded a lot more pompous than what I meant.
S'alright.
Hudlin is a bane on not only Black Panther and Storm, arguably (IMO the) most prominent black comic book characters out there. I really wish people would wise up and see how much he has single handedly destroyed the credibility of BP's solo effort.
Definately agreed. I mean if the T'Challa/Ororo marriage was an editorial decision, any writer could have done it and perhaps better. A #1 usually boosts any book's sales, and it is a shame that Black Panther couldn't have gotten someone better.
I have no interest in this, considering I wish there wasn't an Ultimate Universe to begin with. So I don't care for it's origin. And I agree, why does everything need to be tied to something?
Interconnected conspiracies somehow catch more interest. I usually find them more unrealistic because life sometimes can be very random. But, to be fair, the groundwork for this stuff was laid into Ultimate and it works better here than in 616, so, whatever.
Destroy the Ultimate Universe, it's just as confusing as 616 at this point. "What? There are 3 goblins in Ultimate Spider-Man?"
I wouldn't destroy Ultimate and all the books sell within The Top 50, even if some, like UFF and Ult. XM, have lost a good 25% of their readers or more within the last 4 years or less, and are slowly bleeding more. Perhaps the line needs a bit of a rest and a creative refresher look, as it mainly accomplished all that it was launched to do. It brought in some new ideas and talent into Marvel (whether all were good or bad overall is another story), they have a good 4-7 years of continuity at this rate and seem to be filling pages with B and C level talent. Granted, UFF is still enjoyable. I want to like Ultimate X-Men more because it's Kirkman, but it's still his worst book.
Kind of sad how far this title has fallen really. It used to get top talent, now it seems they're scraping the bottom of the barrel to get people to write this book. And I will laugh if Marvel insists that Singer is still writing an arc on this title at some point.
Marvel is like that girl you quietly and politely try to dump but keeps on calling, least with Hollywood types. The H-Wooders can screw Marvel over in deadlines and whatnot for YEARS, yet Marvel never forgets their numbers. It's like they enjoy being suckered by the "cooler kids". Like that dork who begged for the wedgies so he got closer to the BMOC.
Ultimate in a way is in creative limbo. It accomplished most of their launch goals, yet all sell too well to cancel. The best selling of the lot, USM, is the only one to maintain their A-List writer, even though that was ironically the first title I dropped because I got fed up with said writer. There really are three Ultimate goblins now?
And I still hate how much you support the Ultimate Universe.
Give it time. USM irked me and I dropped it, and haven't missed it. Ult.XM was very close until this last arc with decent Paquette art, but who knows how long that will last. UFF has been clicking but it took almost a year of Carey to do so. I am partisan on bothering with ULTIMATES 3.
I've already made a clear choice that OMD is DO NOT WANT.
Yeah. On the other hand, if it really riles fans, it may provide the perfect chance for Slott to ride in and save the day.
Granted, after all the years of JMS and THE OTHER, he could've done it a year ago.
I'm sure they have the artist, but are waiting to make some huge announcement or something about it.
Perhaps.
Indeed. But not as good as the first one. I don't know but that's how I feel about this mini. It seems that I just hold the first one on a pedestal.
While I have been enjoying CONQUEST, I doubt it will match or surpass ANNIHILATION as well. That doesn't mean it will be bad. If ANNIHILATION is an A+ effort, and CONQUEST turns out to be a solid B+, that really isn't a failure in my eyes.
The premise is interesting enough, but I hated his Return like most logical minds did. But, hopefully this is a decent comic. Haven't decided if I will get it or not.
I likely won't. I don't see the point.
Meh, it could be anything. Considering it's Doom saying this, it could be more of Reed tries to stop every supervillain in the world type thing.
Dr. Doom is like Magneto, a villain who has become popular but SO much so that to have him doing really vile, nasty things is seen as an unsympathetic thing. Note how Magneto blowing up millions in Manhattan was undone with Xorneto and Waid's demonic Doom stuff is barely acknowledged. McDuffie also came in and tried to explain "Fascist Doctor Reed" once and I fear more of that. I am tired of it.
It won't be, don't bother.
Hey, I've stayed on GHOST RIDER this long...
Buy it, read it, love it. Possibly.
Still 50/50 on Howard.
If I were a weaker man, Gage and Perkins alone would make me buy this, but damn, I agree.
Y'know what'd rock? Gage on an actual Avengers title. Give him whatever characters he wants, it's not like Marvel isn't spitting out Avenger titles like they were freakin' popcorn, I bet it'd be good, better than HOM crap. Or get him to co-write one of Bendis' titles because they all magically improve when he gets a co-writer. Or something better than this.
Indeed my good friend. A yellow collar would make it "awesomer".
I never missed Iron Fist's collar, nor did I hold it against him. I like his new sleek design, the only part that sometimes clashes is the long flowing belt. But, no biggie.
Kolins leaving Marvel might have caused a delay in the fruition of an ongoing.
Kolins LEFT MARVEL!? Why the hell did they let him go!? He was one of their best artists!
Power Pack is one of those concepts that seems silly to not have a saturday morning cartoon based on. Especially with so many other toons with similar concepts out there.
Definately. I mean DC was willing to take a risk on little recognized characters like TEEN TITANS and LEGION OF SUPERHEROES, although both had Robin and Superman(boy) as stars the first season.
I'm with you here. Aftermash? I mean, ok I'll try not to judge it yet, but I'm getting Hulked out at this point.
Yeah. That is why I have been avoiding most of the tie-in's.
Yes, Marvel Zombies have gone too long. Lets make this a going away party.
Hell yeah.
Most annuals aren't written by the writer of the title for some reason.
Likely because the writer is busy on the ongoing, and/or to try out a new writer on the character when the core title writer leaves (which, in modern times, is usually after about 12-18 issues on average, IF THAT).
Imagine all the worse characters that could've gotten a mini.
Touche'. But why not just try to make a new character?
**** Blade. Nova is good at this point sales wise, as long as it stays in the 6-70's ranges.
Yeah.
Not interested in pointless retcons. Sadly, it seems that this will have ramifications on the current continuity.
Of course, because Bendis is SO important.

I mean, plenty of writers have sold, but it seems in the 21st century at both the big two those that do are suddenly allowed to muck with the entire universe as they see fit, like a child with clay (Geoff Johns is DC's overextended writer).
Guilty pleasure? Pffft. You claimed it was Marvel's best title if I recall.
XM:FC? Marvel's best title? No way. Maybe one of the best at the moment to me, but not THE best. Off the top of my head I can list a bunch I enjoy more. AVENGERS: INITIATIVE, IMMORTAL IRON FIST, THE LONERS, OMEGA FLIGHT (before it ended), NOVA, STARLORD....
It is a simple fun pleasure book to me, probably like SPIDER MAN LOVES MARY JANE is to others.
MAX should be, and is possibly moving towards that Vertigo line we all wanted it to be.
That would require A-List talent and Marvel seeing stories published that are about the medium, not money or sales, which is something they never have done.
