Yeah...I doubt they used real bats.

They used CG Bats to great success in Begins. Why use real, live unpredictable bats when you could just as easily use CG ones, especially when you already have 6 years ago?

If there are bats, they're probably CG.

I could still tell they were CG, as sufficient as they were for the scenes. Perhaps this time around they figured they could manage them a bit better (depending on what they need of the bats).

Yeah, would Nolan really hate CG that much that he'd rather chose for that?

Just left the tunnel, so cool. The guard I was talking too was very cool. He let me take a few photos. Also he told me they well be filming tonight and sunday.

He told me he was also at the Torrance shoot, he said they used thousands of live bats on the parking garage.

Pretty sure he's full of it on that last part. I never saw any live bats or even animal trainers of any sort at the Torrance shoot...only live Bat i saw was Bale in the batsuit :yay:

Thousands of live bats? Highly unlikely. Bats aren't exactly domesticated mammals that can be trained to not fly away.

Sounds like just a cop trying to get fans riled up.

Yeah there was a few of us at the El Camino shoots. HIGHLY doubt, no, I KNOW that there weren't real bats. Besides, the guards hardly know all that much about shoots. Their information are always contradicting with other guard's information. This has happened many times, so let's not take guard's words as actual confirmation but only as possibilities.

I do think certain guards get a kick out of spinning some crazy story they made up just so they can watch you go all bat-***** crazy so to speak...

Ok so the guard is full of shiet, I get it.

He was just telling me what he saw that day. He said the main reason for the black tarp covering the parking structure was for the bats.

We're not dissing you lol don't worry. We're dissing the guard :P The black tarp could've been for many reasons.. most likely to make it seem like nighttime from the inside looking out. If you're lucky and you hear word from actual people on set, you're sure to get real info. Guards are told general, vague info so they can stand in one spot the entire day repeating "no pitchers please, you can't be here"

No, we're definitely not dissing you.

Aahaha or, "you can't park there" or " this is just a commercial shoot"

So it appears someone has either fortified themselves in the tunnel, or tried to contain something in the tunnel.

Or they're just stacking cars to blow up or drive through.

Don't think I can make it tonight, definitely tomorrow though. Any time frame of when filming is to take place tonight and tomorrow?
I might go later tonight, maybe on Sunday as well. I'm not sure of the shooting schedule, but the guard told me they would shoot late tonight and late Sunday. Though the other guard told me they would shoot in the evening and not after midnight. So who knows.

EXACTLY lol. One guard told us they were shooting a commercial. One actually enthusiastically told us it was the new Batman movie. See, they don't get together and decide what it is they're going to say to casual strollers so they make stuff up on their feet.

Last night at the 3rd street tunnel MSwift and I were standing next to a guard taking photos of the set and he never told us anything until this other guard that looked like he was high and hyper, told him he was taking off and to not let anyone take photos. The calm guard then told us "No pitchers" - LOL. can't trust the guards, man :oldrazz:

OOO! Just had a thought: what if when Batman was racing through the parking structure and the lights were shutting off, its because that darkness is supposed to be a swarm of bats that they'll add with cgi later!!!!! It's unlikely. It's more likely that the lights shutting down is due to power failure of some sort as Batman is trying to escape from either the structure crumbling or something else

Don't trust the guards!! MSwift and I asked a guy on set and he told us the shoot would be on Sunday in the afternoon. We're gonna go by that.

Yeah if anything the bats are going to be CGI. No way would they have real bats on set, and that black tarp wouldn't have been enough for live bats anyway as there were at least two-three big openings from which we saw all the fun stuff from.

The guard I spoke to was very nice and we talked for at least an hour, he even have me a bottle water from the crew's catering truck.

thats pretty cool. Yeah there were a few cool ones we met at the Torrance shoot too. Most are real chill. by far the coolest was a El Camino poilice officer we met. He gave us some good details and let us hang in an area we could see some good stuff

Damn, I'm not sure if I should go tonight...

How far are you from the location? If you have to make a trek to get there, I'd hold off until we get a definitive answer of when they start. But if you're a few minutes away, it wouldn't hurt to check it out
