Bane has propaganda posters up about greed in Gotham's corporations in society? It really sounds like Bane is trying to do Gotham a service then. "Gotham, take control of your city".

It's certainly not the style of Bane in the comics. Looks like Nolan's given him a revamp.

But that's not a good explanation. I'm thinking that the GCPD's weapons got ransacked by Bane.

Someone said the police have been trapped inside the sewers, but I'd think they must have something other than a few smoke grenades... Bane's side have guns, at least 3 police go down, although the one on the right seems to get up again after a while.

Or maybe it just has a more symbolic meaning, it tries to look like a protest mars or a revolution and often those have these kind of fights. Or maybe it was chosen from a cinematic point of view because it looks much better than a regular gunfight. Don't take it too literally.

As for the weapon point, come on now fellas, this is Christopher Nolan. I'm positive that he has a cerebral approach to the final stand.

Bane and Batman will fight in about an hour. Extra who rehearsed the fight just told us they will all fight as soon as they're done with this shot.

This could be one of the pivotal scenes where Bane takes over. The scene like this in Pitts had the mercs handcuffed at the end no?

That would seem to indicate that Gordon is hospitalized toward the end of the movie, if these riots/battles make up the climax of the film (I am assuming the chase scene from Pittsburgh takes place in the middle of the story). Of course, Gordon was also seen with Batman, Catwoman, the Batwing and the earthquake device, and I assume that scene happens toward the end of the film, so I'm clueless. Haha.

Exactly . I think it's possible Modine's character gets brought in when Gordon gets injured? but who the heck knows. At this point we dunno where anything fits chronologically, and there's more that we havent seen shot than what we've seen, but it's fun to speculate t:

More likely they were handcuffed at the beginning. i.e. the Police won this fight, and round up the survivors at City Hall.
Bane and Batman show up again and it all goes to hell, ending with Talia and Catwoman negotiating their exit through a bunch of dead cops and thugs.

That sounds more likely to me. Since he recovered he's been doing some work for the resistance with Blake and uh, Tate.
