There was barely a viral BEFORE real set pictures came out.

Bane had a failed, half-assed viral, the teaser poster didn't have one, the teaser didn't have one, and neither did Catwoman.

There are no virals this go around. WB has cheaped out and they don't care.

I can't believe all the crying going on. From what I heard, the spoiler will come fairly soon. Just be a bit more patient people.

I'm sorry for crying and whinning, I really am. :csad:

I didn't know if the spoiler was coming soon or not, that's why I kept asking.

I just want to know what Subaru knows so bad. If It's confirmation the cowl, it would make my day.

Because it doesn't make sense from a business perspective.

The film is selling itself. TDK did the marketing for it.

The more mystery and intrigue the better anyway. The less we know of the story the better. And I'm sure Nolan feels this way, too.

Plus why spend money for some ridiculous marketing viral that is aimed at people who are COMING TO SEE THE MOVIE REGARDLESS.

They would be marketing to people already sold on the product.

I may not talk to this source again, but I'm not gonna be a *****e and throw him under the bus. If the info gets out, it can be traced back to him. I'm not explaining myself anymore.

It just makes you look bad. Just be patient and wait a little longer.

These videos and pictures forced him to prematurely leak and rush the Catwoman picture out..

I wouldn't classify it as rushed, maybe premature if the intention was just to stick with a boring trailer only campaign. This being a bat film, character pictures are pretty common early on.

Bane had a failed, half-assed viral

Why failed?

But I still don't understand. How can it be traced back to him? Lets say that the spoiler is just that Catwoman does wear a cowl.

And you come on here and say: "Here's the spoiler: Catwoman does wear a cowl 100%".

It's not like WB is going to read that and say "Hmm only one person knows that info! He must have leaked it! Fire him right away!"

There's literally no way they could trace it to him as long as you don't mention anything about the source.

I don't see how spoilers on Catwoman's suit could be traced to one person. Especially if there is no mention of the person.

:(

Subaru when will the spoiler come out?

I have arrived a bit late in the frenzy, but I do not have a problem with Subaru withholding information. First, he has been a consistent source of terrific information - visual and photographed - and the quantity and quality of his work speaks for himself. With that said, we here at the forum, particularly this thread, have been spoiled: with all of the evidence acquired, there are very few unshaded areas left on the narrative of the film, but rather, the fine details. We are by no means entitled to have this information, so having it, particularly of this quality, is far more than we are entitled.

Secondly, it is a bit much to ask someone to expose information that cold unravel an acquaintanceship: nothing is worth it. Especially, when considering the information in question: the Catwoman costume. Are we really turning against each other all because of confirmation of a costume selection? Short of the breast-baring outfit in Arkham City (which, considering Nolan's aesthetic will not be in the film,) said piece of information is very petty. Take a look at what we know: the entirety of the chase scene, most of the dramatic reveals, and a good deal of the subplots. On one hand, as a rabid fan, I have been and will continue to eagerly lap up any information.

But, the Apollonian half of me believes that it is detrimental, to a degree. Not to the fan, rather those working on the production. Sure, having spoilers leak will help market the film - to an extent - but it has also ignited pockets of "this film is going to tank," etc., and must be irritating to those on the set. I mean, confidentiality is a given on the job, and how would it feel to avoid saying any damning statements, and yet having the whole public know, even though the production is supposed to operate on 'a closed set'?

I think everybody needs to lower their thermostats a notch: stop hitting F5, and just remember that any criticizing helps affirm the negative paradigm of the Bat-fan. Remember: the Hype is by no means a private website. And I would bet my most recent paycheck that someone(s) from the production is monitoring the site.

What is he a lighting technician on the set?

If the guy is of any actual value to the production he's not getting fired on the account of something you said to fellow board members on a website.

Be realistic. You're being overly cautious for no reason.

I'm sure your source is the only one with supposed information on the look of Catwoman, bro. He's not going to be incriminated based off things spoken on a small community message board. You don't know how to divuldge info without naming the person you spoke to with whom you recieved said information?

haha

Has anyone considered that maybe Subaru just wants to keep his word? Forget all of the "going against Nolan's wishes by posting videos" stuff. Maybe just on a human level, he just wants to prove good on his word and respect his source's wishes by not spilling the beans. Simple as that.

Look, I got a chance to meet Subaru a couple of weeks ago in Pittsburgh and he's a stand up guy. I know he's not intentionally dangling info in front of everyone. We'll know soon enough I'm sure.

EDIT: Damn lag. Subaru's above post echoes my sentiments exactly.

Subaru, just release the info when you feel would be safest for you and your source.
You've done an awesome job this far man I feel no reason to doubt you.

I remember back in the day readin these posters ... one was named goldberk2k1 and the other was like MJZ or something. And these guys had LEGIT scoops from important people within the studio, and they leaked more important info without getting anyone fired. Hell, the damn script leaked from BEGINS and no one got canned. Even though it was always rumored it was David Goyer who did it himself for the fan community who loves Batman, to basically let them rest assured it was going to be a quality movie.

Geez, some of you posters have a lot in common with dope fiends.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Goldberg get HQ set pics? I was a lurked back then and I don't remember any huge spoilers being leaked.

"He won't get fired" is a pretty crappy reasoning to make someone else release info. If you want to talk "realistic", then accept that people get fired from productions like this all the time, or are moved to lesser jobs.

If we're also talking "realistic" then you would have to admit you have no idea what actual consequences could occur. Sorry.

Let's just say the source's name is Mike.

If Mike is worried about getting fired for leaking info, than why would he tell Subaru of all people, this bit of info. :p

If someone from WB is watching this forum, and they see Subaru's spoiler(if he posts it), I doubt they will yell "Mike must have leaked this info!"

There's no way for them to know that Mike gave subaru that info. There are so many WB employees. I don't know if Mike would face any consequences, but I highly doubt it.

And if this guy didn't want the info to get out, than why would he tell Subaru in the first place? Subuar, the guy who has been leaking set pics and videos like clockwork. Why would he tell him this secret info? Maybe he wanted Subaru to leak it! Yes that must be it. He wanted you to leak the spoiler Subaru! :awesome:

And maybe to atone for his atrocious dialogue? :p

And you know this how? Man, this isn't some lame desk job where gossip goes around and we find out every last detail. This is a fast moving business where sometimes dozens if not hundreds of people are let go day after day.

One slip up, and sometimes an entire department is given grief.

Jesus Christ.

Some of you are acting like such children. After all you've been given - after everything you've seen thus far - you're throwing a hissy fit because you want more and you can't have it. Well, sorry, but I think that's stupid as hell. You're all going to see it eventually when the thing opens next year and everything will be put onscreen, so why the impatience? It's absolutely unnecessary given the sheer quantity of everything that's been delivered thus far. You act like you should be entitled to be given the entire movie on a silver platter when you really were lucky to be given even the fewest scraps.

It's not like if you're not given the information before it's too late, it'll never see the light of day and you'll have missed out on something that only comes around once. It's all being filmed, it's all being made into a movie, so for the love of god just let it be made and be glad that it is.

Jesus.

Apparently that concept doesn't exist to some people.

Unless the spoiler is very PLOT specific, I doubt any bit of info on the cat suit will get anyone fired. Hell, those spoilers Subaru got off the shoot list about the batpod and the "stabbing", those leaking had a better chance of getting someone fired. Those were BIG spoilers And maybe they did get someone fired, but that didn't stop Subaru from posting them.

I really don't think anyone will get in trouble over some info on the catsuit being said on an internet forum.

+ bazillion. Relax and let subaru be a man of his word.
