Official discussion on why "Nice Guys" have a hard time getting the girl.

Can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not...but just in case, yeah I did say "some".

guy comes on a comic book forum and is upset that he can't get a girlfriend... maybe ease off the SHH and go to the gym instead. It's not about being nice, it's about being real. For some reason after I finished writing that sentence I remembered, "...And see what happens when people stop being polite, and start getting real...."

I'm sure SHH! has nothing to do with it. The main point that keeps getting mentioned is that the word 'nice' is being misused. 'Nice' is not a synonym of spineless, nor does it describe people who put on an act to win favour. 'Nice' is something people are without trying to be anything other than themselves, doing it effortlessly without ulterior motives.

Nice is a pretty bland word when you think about it. In this case it's being used to describe normal people who aren't *******s. That's the long and short of it.

You're nice = You're not a bastard

I am a nice normal guy. I have no problem saying it, but I could find a lot of other much better words to describe my best traits.

It's the easiest thing to soften the blow of someone who's not attracted to you. I know a lot of people would rather them be honest but some things you just don't need spelled out to you.

It's not just about spelling out the problem, it's about women sending conflicting messages. On the one hand they say: "Oh, I just wanna find a nice guy" and then they turn around and use the "nice guy" line as a blow off.

The nice guy thing. A thing once branded onto you, its something that can never be avoided.

Or atleast that's how I see it. Or always has been.

Or you can turn that around and say a guy who reads too much into what is said or sometimes even not said. Oh she touched my arm when she talked to me.

*High five* Sexy time.

Aren't women supposed to be more adept at reading and interpreting emotions? :)

People in general aren't adept enough to read the back of a cereal box. :o

And they just don't wanna get shot by some dude that turns into an unstable nut.

Exactly. For the most part I believe that almost everyone is "nice". It's human nature. Most people aren't *******s. But insecure, awkward people use "nice" to describe themselves and their behavior, and that's basically the root of their problem. You're not a nice person if you actually expect to get something because you're "nice", or you feel like you deserve something because you're "nice".

Society is a bunch of selfish, lazy babies who feel we are entitled to everything.

I've got sunnier outlook I guess. :o

You live in Magic Fairy Land where puppies and kittens frolic together, and pandas eat candy bamboo and **** rainbows.

I just stand there and do nothing and are still creeped out by me.

It's like i know they're thinking STOP LOOKING A ME!
That's called staring.

Either take a quick glimpse and look away or just look at them as you talk to them.

Nice guys can't get girlfriends, *****es can't get boyfriends

Nice guys get with the *****es

problem solved
