I'll be honest here. Red Skull from the film is probably one of the most accurate translations from comic to film.

I loathe the Captain America costume design for this movie, but Red Skull couldn't be better.

I actually like the mouth like it is. Makes it look a lot more freaky and unique, like he has a really thin, layer of stretched skin over the skull. Makes him look more corpse like

Yeah, theyve clearly referenced that but also decided to reign the design in a bit; scaled down the brow and got rid of the sourpuss mouth.

The joke thing is, many people were expecting this film to be a failure and yet it looks like it could be one of the best if not the best film of the summer.

Secondly, skull looks awesome. It just makes me cringe how they effed up Doom so badly.

I still think it really lacks consistency, from what I've seen: Red Skull is marvellous, perfect, but they were afraid to take the same path when it comes to Captain America, who is to be more Steve Rogers in a half-soldier costume, than Captain America properly.

Also, Johnston is still to prove he can make a movie as good as Iron Man. I doubt much, but can be mistaken.

The tv spot seemed weak, for me, comparing it to the Thor one.

I'm waiting, but suspicious. Anyway: this Red Skull picture is already historical. I hope they reach this same great design when doing Zola.

Movie version is at least ten times better than the above.

It has this very important Kirbyesque feel to it. And that skull above is from 1985's Return of the Living Dead.

I don't want that in a Captain America movie, no sir. That's not a comedy.

I agree totally. I was satisfied with Cap's look until this reveal of the Skull, but now Cap looks dull in comparison.

For everyone that jumped down my throat on TDK comment (which I knew would happen) I mearly was saying that because since that movie came out it seemed every single film to come out after it was always put up against it. and you can not deny it. Go onto any forum or read through any of SHH's first postings of these comic books movies coming out and there was always 2 or 3 people saying "i hope its like TDK, I hope its gritty like TDK,TDK,TDK,TDK

I wasnt being childish I was just happy now that the people who were posting like that can be quiet

Edit: I loved TDK as much as the next person, I really did, it just got really old really fast hearing it every 5 seconds and the radical DC lovers coming into the Marvel forums and trolling about it.
