First Avenger OFFICIAL: Hugo Weaving is Red Skull - Part 6/6/44

The 1990 Red Skull is better, because I can see a swastika :o

Have to admit I really like the pronounced brow Kirby originally drew and how the eye brows moved independently. Just like I missed it on the Thing in the F movies. I do like a lot of what I see though. Looks not bad.
heh I thought the First FF Thing was great. Looked more like the first issue Thing of the Kirby days. I do hope they keep that in mind when redoing FF at Marvel if they ever do. The Thing Brow shouldn't be so pronounced early on.

The Red Skull however is another Story, it's not the same IMO. Unlike Ben going through an evolution of sorts, Skull's brow in the comics was from a mask, the brow was already pronounced when Schmidt became the Red Skull.
It's a another thing in the Movie since it isn't a mask. I'm glad Marvel went with that design keeping with the Kirby design.

I love that glare Red Skull has going on. If a Nazi monster super soldier ever were to look at me like that I think I'd die of terror.

I also thought that. It will be interesting to see if someone shoops the pic of The Red Skull to give him more darkness around the eyes. I remember someone saying how spooky it was to see Skull's eyes hovering in the darkness like that.

There you go. I also changed the shape of his face a bit to match the drawing and put a nazi symbol. I also made his suit green as a homage to some of his comic outfits.

Lol, I know a poster in another thread that would litereally have a fit if he saw that manip.

that manip is super cool, but it wouldn't make sense in the movie, I mean the skull would actually protrude out further than when it had fless and hair covering it.

seriously thoug good job.

Awesome, isnt it? Actually, in all this time since that image or the teaser showing Skull has been released, I dont think I've seen who's responsible for the make-up fx.

Anyone?

Can you tell me the origin of this face? I keep seeing it on message boards and I want to know where it came from. Is it a reference to something?

Never have I felt more like I was looking at a living, breathing comic book villain than when I saw this image.

So far...probably the closest for a Marvel character

Yeah, when I first saw that image, I thought, "Screw Captain America... I WANT A RED SKULL MOVIE!!!"

Well this is purely guessing, but it could either be Rick Baker, who worked with JJ on Wolfman, or Stan Winston studios who've done a lot of Marvel stuff. Otherwise, I got no idea.

Baker's a good shout considering how great it is, but surely we would have heard of his involvement(?) already given that he's about as high profile as it comes in terms of practical make up fx. I dunno.

Bottom line - whoever is responsible for it needs to get the credit they deserves because it's, well, it's awesome isnt it?

Hmm, Josh Weston as 'Special makeup effects artist'. What other film has he worked on? The Wolfman.

Maybe there is a Rick Baker link after all.

I always thought The Red Skull fell into a vat of chemicals.
