To be fair, Callisto's not on par with Northstar in terms of speed. Not even close.
As for the Avlanche talk... remember when Rickygate was going down, FOX issues a statement to SHH about Ricky NOT playing Avalanche as AVALANCHE was NOT in the film?
much like Cannonball and Gambit, Avalanche was cut early on.

But how do you know exactly? Super-speed is listed as one of Callisto's powers on the X3 website, and it's an entirely new power for her.

And, regardless of how many miles she does to the gallon, it's still duplication to have two speedsters right in the main line-up of the Brotherhood. I'd have liked to see Callisto WITHOUT super-speed, but we can't have everything!

We don't know what her speed in the movie will be. There's a small blurb in the official site which indicates speed might be part of her powers.

I did, i see no problem reiterating it, as others have done since this thread started. And just because i disagree with the Northstar/Callisto comparison doesn't man I'm arguing, either, i'm just stating comic fact. how it will play out on film is anyone's guess.
Also i just checked out the X3 site, Callisto's profile for her film powers, this is what it says:

"Superhuman senses, can detect electrical energy spike from miles away, can detect the presence of other mutants based on their energy projection.
Superb hunter and tracker."

Am i just blind, is there ANOTHER blurb on the site about her powers I'm not seeing?
Now i know in the comics Callisto has heightened agility, strength speed and senses.. but this has always been closer to Wolverine and Sabretooth level, not Northstar. It's a completely different kind of power display and level.

No, it's both. To be more accurate it's flying at a super speed. At least in the newer books.

Hmmm...Well, back to Callisto, it's not a completely different power as in a change, but more of an amplification in my eyes...Callisto already had heightened strength, superhuman reflexes and agility, which are some of the basics of what a mutant with super speed would have...So, it's not like they made Callisto a mix of mutants that can shoot darts out of their noses and eyes or somethin'... They still became abilities that had some roots to her comic powers...

From what i'm gathering ont he X3 site, they're given Callisto Caliban's powers as well. Heightened speed doesn't necisarily translate into 'super' or superhuman speed, it just means quicker than the average person.. whereas characters like Northstar or Quicksilver are actually traveling at a much faster rate.

Oh, Masque did that to her. It's not part of her original mutation, and she no longer has them in the comics.

Hey guys remember Raz Degan the guy who an IMDB poster said was playing a Omega mutant who "energizes" things and that liz person from CanMag said is playing Gambit. He looks like this guy if you take off the beard and make his hair longer.

Yeah i finally found the trailer again and watched it, it wasn't as telling as i remember. it just sucks the Mutant Rally clip that was played with the Ian McKellen interview wasn't high res... because there's a full body shot of the guy for a split second.

i would've jumped on that suggestion, I mean he does look like Vulcan.... but Deadly Genesis was out way after the film started shooting. Then again, you'd have people going 'but Gambit's the third Summers brother, he must be GAMBIT!' if they ever said 'third summers brother'. lol
