The Ultimate Hawkeye is not dead. A scientists who I presume is Ultimate Arnim Zola, extracts the security codes from him after his family is killed.

Meanwhile Tony's wedding is postponned by Natasha. Natasha convinces Tony to stay at home a "play". While they are in midst foreplay, the shields on the Triskelion go down. Quicksilver hears explosions outside and goes to investigate. he finds giant Dynamo robots attacking downtown. Meanwhile the floating aircraft carriers all decend on the Triskelion and destroy half of it. The shields manage to go online and protect the second half. Outside Wanda, Betty Ross, Fury and a few officers convien. Meanwhile Quicksilver is running downtown relaying information on whats going on. Both the FF and X-Men have been put under house arrest by the invasion force.

Meanwhile Tony hears from his bedroom the noise outside and tries to leave but Widow hold's a gun to his head and tells him he is not going anywhere. Jarvis enters with breakfast and is shot in the head by Natasha.

Then out of the sky appears Ultimate Perun brings forth a lightning storm and fries Quicksilver (apparently?).

Back at the Triskelion an invasion force of super suited soldiers attack from airships. The first wave attacks Fury and his few compatriots. Fury looses an arm right off the bat. Betty whisks him to safety for the moment while Wanda attempts to alter the probabilities of the situation.

At that point the backup arrives. However they are overwhelmingly outnumbered despite the presence of super suits and giant men (and Stark bots), all to most of which are killed. Wanda seemly sacrifices herself at lets out one giant probability altering wave...however it is of little effect

After this happens Crimson Dynamo, Abomination, Loki (who is a GOD allong with Thorlief), Red Guardian, Perun, Sputnik and and unknown character (maybe Sabra) and another unknown who resembles Rictor take what is left of the Triskelion and knock over the statue of liberty. They declare the country theirs (including DC and LA).

Highest. body. count. ever.

This is awesome! I hope Loeb's up to snuff, cause this is going to be a hard act to follow.

this issue basically cemented what i always believe in millar...he kicks major arse...i mean come on...he totally brought the pain...i so didnt see this going down the way it did...and i believed whole hearted 100% that thor and loki were gods...im glad i wasnt just crazy....lol...but yeah...so many things went on...i have no idea how to really take it all in....defintely a kick in the teeth to america's ideal that we are the world police...lets hope this never really happens in the real world o_o

In norse legend lots of thors strength came from his belt (which is why it made sense that he fell when quicksilver removed it)

On a side not how much butt is ult quicksilver kicking these days he took down thor, saved most of the triskellion staff and was taking down robots, go him!!

Yeah, Quicksilver really is their MVP, but kinda by default being that Thor, Cap, and Iron Man were all out of the fight... thanks to Loki and Natasha.

Damn this was one kick-ass issue. Just a few questions:

Do these new guys have a team name?

Was that Red Guardian shown in Ultimate Nightmare, and if it is can I assume he survived getting stabbed in the chest by a spike and escaped only to now take over America?

Is it me or is the Red Guardian wielding a double bladed lightsaber?

Yep. It's the Ultimate version of the Soviet Supersoldiers. They were a communist version of the Avengers. I saw them in an old issue of Captain America.

To be honest - I was a bit disappointed with this issue. We all went down the route of "too obvious" and then it was that obvious. If Tony was shot, you can bet Natasha doesnt know about his bio armour. Jarvis may well be dead, but no loss there - would have shot that guy myself given the chance...

Quicksilver appears to be dead, there was no reason for Hydra or whoever to keep Hawk alive now, Cap is down, Pym appears to be involved in containment or something, making him too involved for any good to come of it; unless they're talking bout Jan and its a plot twist. Fury lost an arm, all the reserves have been killed (man did the giant men go down easy) - all in all, its just too much carnage and total decimation of the entire US super program and everything about what America stands for.

Maybe there is some reality manipluating going on that can be undone. Some evidence for the likelihood of this being the case stems from the radio chatter between the bad guys saying how they'd taken out the FF, the X-Men, any stray mutants etc - a force however well prepared they are taking out every metahuman threat in the US with technological powers and a few bioenhanced guys? Bit much really - even for the lethality and precision of this group. I'm thinking at the very least Tony has back up shutdown code for all Iron tech based technology that is inadvertantly built into anything with his designs - so he can shut down all those giant robots and save some lives.
