I don't mind the politics Millar includes in the comics, they make for an interesting read and almost gives the reader a sense of awareness even though it's just a comic. It's amazing how so many people are getting into political arguments when this title gets mentioned, personally I think it's great.I'm not one to follow politics, however I don't see Millar's inclusion of such themes as overboard or too political. He makes the reader think and relate to today's world. It's not just baddies getting smashed and blown up,these characters get some real depth thanks to the great characterization this book has. It's amazing how people bash this book because they think everyone in it has major issues,is a pompous jackass,or is simply messed in the head.Millar certainly has a knack for writing large and complicated personalities, and I only think this adds to the book giving it a reflection of today's society. This is hardly propaganda,I see it as Millar's way of shaking up the readers' minds giving us something more than a basic "good guy VS bad guy Whedon story" and making us say "Wow,could you imagine?" or "What if?".Yes I said it,Whedon.(Awaits Whedon-Wagoners to flame on)
Issue 9 was a shocker in which the revelation of the traitor simply took the back seat to everything else which went down.Kudos Mr.Millar.
As for Vol.3?Loeb and JoeMad have some Giant shoes to fill, and after reading this, they're going to have to pull out something good because this is going to be hard to top.Not too excited about Joe Mad doing the art. This is like Van Halen making the switch from Dave to Sammy, fans will be divided.
