I can't defend this for two main reasons:

1. It's Ultimate

2. It's garbage.

You'll be singing a diff tune when Ultimate Black Panther is revealed to be Bob Reynolds

Pyro was there at the mansion after Jean's restart. This was just another Loeb screw up.

Ok, I'll admit that's a pretty blatant screw-up :

It's not really a Loeb screw-up. If anything, it's an editing screw-up - meaning that the Ultimate editor (I'm too lazy to check if there's more than one, so let's say there's one) totally missed it.

It could have something to do with the timing of scripts, too. Who knows which script was in first - Loeb's Ultimates 3 or Kirkman's end of his run.

But even so, the blame still falls on the editor's shoulders. It's what his job is.

It's a pretty forgettable screw-up, hakuna matata. I was more excited to see Juggs back, hope we get some kind of explanation eventually.

It's the art that stopped me from readding it in the first place. Is the writting really that bad? But he's writting 4 and 5 too!

Black Panther - Nick Fury.

That been thrown out there? Ultimate origins has the man alive and in his prime as far back as WWII. He undergoes an earlier version of the SSS and the result is the same explosion as the one after Steve's successful doseage. He's been missing for ages, with no real explanation in other comics, but we all know he apparently stayed behind in the Ultimate Squadron Supreme mini (that could probably be retconned out of continuity, though his disappearance does feature). Logan recognises BP and we assumed he was Cap playing some game, especially after Loeb threw the curve of the Cap we saw being Robotic. But what if its a another curve?

I don't think they'll retcon the Ultimate Power story but they might say he got back somehow. I think Ultimate Power might play a role either in or after the Ultimatum.

I dont think they'd go through all that to get rid of Fury only to have him return so shortly after. I think he'll be in the Supreme Squadron universe for a while.

I also adored issues 1-3, but this newest "robots" angle is ugh.
