Days of Future Past "Only have one more new character" in sequel says Vaughn

I think you would need one or two newcomers though.

The X-Men is totally male now that Mystique has left - Havok, Banshee and Beast are the only physically active members (because Xavier is in chair).

As for new females, Emma won't join the X-Men (yet, at least) because then we'd have two telepaths. In fact, we're more likely now to see astral plane showdown between Emma and Charles.

So we need one new female member at least. They'd need to be interestingly different. Polaris would be a duplication of Magneto's powers, so she seems unlikely. Could we see a young Jean or Storm? Or someone else? Dazzler? Storm seems unlikely if the Brotherhood still has Riptide.

Thoughts?
Yeah, I'm okay with two new additions, but nothing like the leap up of characters like X3 did.

I've mentioned Polaris before, which I'm ok with. I also think Dazzler would be interesting to see..

Im sure the sequel will have one new x-men, at least (not sure if a girl or a boy, I preffer a girl), and one new villain, probably the main one.

I have to agree, now that the X-Men team is so male heavy at the end of this one, I think they almost have to add at least one, if not two, female characters to the X-team in a sequel.

which are the first girls that joined the x-team in the first decade?

appart from Jean and Ororo...

We also still need to see Charles and Erik build Cerebro at the mansion and I agree...it is way too early to have the X-Men go to war against the Brotherhood. Maybe a little fight scene between the two but the second movie shouldn't be about Erik fighting Charles. That is a great ending to the trilogy and you could even have an ending voice over with Patrick Stewart!

From where First Class left off, Magneto and Charles aren't major enemies yet. Magneto went off on his own, but in that last scene on the beach, he's not bitter at Charles,
Well, I think it's Charles who's supposed to be bitter, not the other way around. Charles risked his life a few times to help Erik, and in the end he was just left at the beach. Nice friend, Erik.

Anyway, I don't think we'll see them reunite as friends in the next film - the bond has been broken, and they'll both be dealing with their personal issues. Maybe if we have a third film they can reach some kind of understanding again.

But the beach scene wasn't a betrayl, Charles knew from the start what Magento's intentions were and Magneto never tried to pretend otherwise, he never truly betrayed Charles, Xavier was just blind to everything around him, like Magneto said.

Plus when Charles got hurt, Magneto was the first to react and overreact by trying to kill Moira, since in his head it was her fault and not his.

I dont think they are enemies yet, i think they are still friends that have had a fight, or a falling out. Where you don't talk to them for a while, but you would still be concerned about their well being if you heard something bad happened to them.

I just thought - having mentioned I thought Storm should be added to the team - if she was, it would tie nicely into X3. She and Beast clearly know each other, and since they could have met at any point in history, why not as teammates in the "first class"?

Yes, I know people want to ignore X3 at all costs (including the filmmakers), but for those of us who don't it'd be a nice little tie-in.

I think it went something like this in order:

First Team: Jean
60's Recruits: Polaris
70's Recruits: Storm (Petra, Sway in the retconned continuity)
80's Recruits: Shadowcat, Rogue, Pyslocke, Dazzler
90's Recruits: Jubilee, Cecillia Reyes, Marrow,

I won't go into the 2000's since they probably wouldn't pull anyone from there.

Assuming we get a sequel Instead of X4 and both Singer and vaughn return(It's not out of the realm of possibilty If a first Class sequel IS made of just Singer returning) I think we will get 1 new X-Man.The brotherhood Is set.Since First Class Is formation of X-Men
and Brotherhood a sequel would be the first X-Men VS brotherhood.

It's way too soon for Cyclops,Storm, and Jean. And people are wanting to Introduce way too many characters in a sequel.X2 Introduced 1 new X-Man Nightcrawler. Both Iceman and Pyro had small parts In X-Men as students(although Pyro was recast) and Introduced William Stryker, Lady Deathstrike, and Mastermind Inspired jason Stryker among villians.

Inless they also want to show elements of antihumans In the government I say let's stick to the Brotherhood we have at end of First Class.

Let's devolp more of banshee and havok instead of Introducing several new X-men.I am not sure which new X-Man they would bring In although my first suspecioun would be Polaris

In all honesty, I could manage without Riptide and Angel in a sequel. Not sure how their absence would be explained away though.

Also, would they dare have Storm at the same time as Riptide. The tornado thing seems too similar somehow. Unless we had some sort of weather battle.

Whoever is chosen has to mean something in the story.

If I were Erik's friend, I would consider it a betrayal, from a friendship steadpoint. But maybe it's just me - that situation didn't sit well with me, morally speaking. My friends always come first.

And I think it's quite interesting how people generally think that the guy who doesn't belive in revenge or destruction is considered weak or blind. Says a lot about the world we live in.

Plus when Charles got hurt, Magneto was the first to react and overreact by trying to kill Moira, since in his head it was her fault and not his.
Well, that's my main problem with Magneto. He's always trying to blame other people for his mistakes. I loved what Charles said to him.

[BLACKOUT]And what shocked me was both Raven and Erik abandoning a gravely wounded friend - who could actually be dying - and just bamf out of the beach as if there was no tomorrow. How about bamfing Charles to the nearest hospital before deciding to go all Brotherhood? [/BLACKOUT]:o

This needs to happen, and soon. As well as Apocalypse, possibly in X4 if they decide to do that, along with proper Sentinels. We've gotten too many movies for none of this to have happened by now

Everytime I see this thread I think of a new one, this time I think a nice choice would be Cecilia Reyes but with more Armor-like powers, and maybe give the civil rights movement a little mention, something like "I came out of one minority to get to another".

I don't see why Storm couldn't work with Riptide there - a face-off in the style of "you can produce a few whirlwinds, but I can fill the sky with tornadoes" could be fun.

It'd also be nice for Storm to have a chance at a bigger story in the X-films, and if there's any mention of the Civil Rights Movement she might have some personal point of view to add to the storyline.

I think Storm will still just be a little girl in the next movie, so I'm not a fan of including her.

Keep in mind, the movie franchise is pretty liberal with which characters it draws from which time periods (i.e. Havok is way older than Scott now, Angel was born in the 50s and not the 90s). Accordingly, if they wanted to add a female X-men to Charles' side, we can go to the X-force, X-factor, Alpha Flight and New Mutants teams from the comics as well.

1. Domino: just a really cool character to see on screen, and a fairly easy-to-explain power
2. Wolfsbane: so far, we've only seen a shapeshifter that can do human-sized people and objects, but not one who can turn into beasts
3. Karma: a good diversity hire for Charles' side, and can kind of be his new kid sister/daughter figure to fill Mystique's place, plus be the telepath in the field that Charles cannot be
4. Magma: another good multicultural character, and a pretty straightforward power
5. Moonstar: another good multicultural character, and the special effects depicting her power would be pretty cool to see

Riptide seemed to be an extremely powerful mutant and his whirlwind powers seemed to have almost no limit.

Introducing Storm and having her completely own him at his own game would be pretty cool.

Introducing Storm in the next movie might not be a bad idea! Especially if takes place in the 70's and if Beast was a young kid in the 60's and Storm could've past for early 40's in X3, I dunno, they might be able to get away with a Storm in her early 20's.

How would she be made to be more than just Magneto in a dress?

well she is Magnetos daugther...

but the thing is, just because her powers are the same as the lead villian, the character has alot of development.

Her father is Magneto, but she doesnt have the same values as him
She may fight on Xaviers side,
How would Polaris effect Magnetos thoughts of his war.
Plus you also have a female lead within the x-men and potential love interest for Havok.

in my ideal world i would introduce Mr.Sinister

But you have to look at story development and with the way the x-men are going i would say Polaris is more logical, im not a fan of her as a character but there is just way to much story development.

If they were to go that route, they might as well just introduce Storm and call it a day.

The Storm in XMFC did not look like a little girl to me; she looked between 10 and 12, but it was a very fleeting glimpse so I can't be sure.

That said, the characters in FC weren't given ages on screen that I can recall, and I can easily buy some like Banshee being as young as 15. So I would buy Storm in a FC2 as anywhere between 14 and 17 and still allow her to "join in" on the action if need be. Even if she was on the younger side, she could easily do what Kitty used to do in the comics and stow away on board the jet and get involved in a final fight.

If you want to look at events...

In 1963, massive avalanche occured in ancorage, alaska.... two things here
1. way to introduce Avalanche.
2. way to introduce a young Cyclops but continutey would be terrible
