I doubt he would mislead people into thinking we'd see more OT cast members and then not deliver. If anything, it'd be the other way around. In the latest podcast he said Apocalypse would "primarily follow the FC cast" that is heavily indicating we might see the future cast again in some form, not just Wolverine. Everyone knows Wolverine is here to stay. And so what if the OT is erased, it's time travel man. It's all part of the same series. There would be no X-Men Apocalypse if X1-3 didn't happen leading to DOFP.

actually he said this year that he would return, lol
and said on twitter that the studio never asked him to return, not that he said no

Is that so?

Well, sweet!

I know they've found a less torturous way to do the Mystique makeup. Maybe that cross-applies.

Nightcrawler was one of the most awesome elements of what is easily one of the top three best superhero movies ever.

For some people on here when it comes to the OT their overall expectations are too high and have always been too high and will likely leave them disappointed in the long run

I hope there is no "bookend cameos" - it is set in '83 so it should not be about future X-Men or an attempt to shove actors into unnecessary scenes - like in Star Trek Into Darkness - love the movie and Nimoy but that scene was completely pointless.

James MacAvoy should be Professor X and if Cyclops, etc. are in it then they should be played by younger actors.

I could maybe see someone (probably Patrick Stewart) doing a voiceover in a prologue explaining the backstory of Apocalypse, if they wanted to go in that direction.

Yea, that would make sense. If this movie is about the origins of mutants, their history through time etc, what's the point of having bookends or scenes in the future?

Seems superfluous.

I think Famke, Halle or James will make cameos. I imagine Charles (McAvoy) reading them minds and there we will see the OC actors in the future.

Famke and James for sure. Halle... time will tell, but it will deppend on how many adult actors Singer wants. If he plans to show the full adult team or most of them, yeah, Halle will appear, if not, less likely imo. But as of right now, I go with Patrick, Famke and James.

Famke and James I don't they have any reason to be involved, and xavier reading their minds is just... Why? What for?

Right now I think it will be Hugh and maybe Patrick, I think they will keep the OT involvement incredibly small, they have enough past character they will be working with to force in OT cast cameos

In any case if Patrick is involved it may be just him telling Logan about the past, so Ian could be involved to tell his side of the story but other then that no need for anyone else, if even that's the case

I think Famke, James, Halle will have cameo simply because the film will be a reintroduction of Cyclops, Jean and Storm.
It is interesting to show adult versions early in the film and go to the young versions.

First class and DOFP show the origin of Xavier and Magneto 's relationship .
Apocalypse is about the birth of Cyclops, Jean and Storm 's friendship.
IMO, they should show the original trio with Xavier and Logan in the beginning.

my reason is that now that Singer brought them back at the end of Dofp, Fox might want to take advantage of it and promote both actors/characters in the marketing material. That way, it will be a bit different than Dofp, and this time they will promote pics of Famke and James, to not make it feel as repetitive, with Anna pics, Shawn pics, Daniel pics...

I doubt there would be a purpose to have them involved, it would likely be a cameo with some dialogue and likely no action, so not exactly marketable anyway, and each future cameos would each take away past characters development by the minute, I'm willing to bet they would be happy with just Stewart anyway

For what is speculated about the purpose the future scenes would have in the film doesn't really fit with them being involved either, Stewart and jackman could do it all, lower your expectations seriously

Intill we have proof otherwise best to assume only Jackman will be back for Apocalypse
especilly till we get confirmation Singer is still directing.

Halle will definitely comeback if she is asked for a cameo role. Anyway, if that happens, it will be her 1st cameo role in the series.

I agree that they should take advantage now that they brought them back at the end of DOFP.

But at the same time, I don't want to see the OT cast in posters and a lot of marketing materials when they would only appear for like 5 minutes. DOFP is an exception since Hugh Jackman appeared in the 70s scenes and the OT cast had a lot of action. Personally, I would like to see how Apocalypse will perform without the appearance of the OT cast.

If Fox just start shoving in characters from the "future" just to have certain actors in it - it will just become bloated.

Take The Hobbit for example - Blancett and Bloom appearing in the movie does make sense but there was absolutely no need for Peter Jackson to add Elijah Wood and Ian Holm - no point other than just to put them in there - and I'm not normally one to take notice of this but Ian Holm and Martin Freeman look nothing alike (just like McAvoy and Stewart) and the that fact shouldn't be made so blazingly obvious to the viewer.

Grammer said he was “delighted” to get back in the Beast makeup for his appearance in the new timeline at the end of Days of Future Past, and told Steve that he took the initiative to see if he could perform the cameo:

“Actually I called Bryan. I bumped into Hugh Jackman and he said, ‘Oh you’re gonna be in another X-Men, mate!’ and I said, ‘No I’m not, I don’t know anything about it.’ So I made a couple of inquiries, got a hold of the script, found out that it’s primarily dealing with the past and that timeline I don’t have a place in, but I saw that at the end there was this coda where he made an appearance. I said, ‘Listen, I really wanna be involved,’ so Bryan arranged for it and I had a lovely time.”

The actor reiterated his delight at returning to the role, adding that he hopes it wasn’t for the last time:

“I hope to do another. I hope they find some way to come up with a new story that involves Beast in my timeline.”

Make it happen Fox!

I know I am in the minority on this, but Sir Ian McKellen is still my favorite Magneto. I'd love to see him back taking on Apocalpse, but I have a feeling DOFP may be the last time we see him in the Magneto role. :csad:
