There are plenty of movies to see: So yeah Pac Rim, The Wolverine, Elysium (already said as well, I know), Fruitvale Station, Turbo (could be fun), R.I.P.D (although it could be a turd), The To Do List, The Spectacular Now, Kick-Ass 2, Prince Avalanche, Ain't Them Bodies Saints, The World's End, Riddick, Rush, Prisoners, Don Jon and this is just July-August and September.

The Turbo trailers I have seen have not been horrible. Kinda cute.

Ah, I love Red. :csad:

I am even going to go and see RIPD. It has the potential to be so bad it is fun. Jeff Bridges looks like he is having fun.
I usually don't ***** about this because I hate CGI whiners but the CGI in RIPD looks Van Helsing level awful. It's just a major turn off to me. That being said it looks like an okayish MIB ripoff I guess. Maybe it could surprise and be interesting, who knows?

I feel like I'm being too negative. I need to say something positive..uh yeah Jeff Bridges is awesome! Yeah, that was something.

i can not watch Reynold's sad dramatic face in an expensive movie.

Jeff Bridges is indeed awesome.

I completely get what you are saying, especially about the special effects. Usually I wouldn't go and might not still. But I don't know, Jeff Bridges in full camp mode has a lot of insane potential. Oh, and I love me some Nancy Botwin. :D

Ryan Reynolds just absolutely drags movies into the trash heap, for me. With that said, I love Jeff Bridges and hope his on screen charisma can trump RR's on screen annoyance. So, I will be seeing RIPD.

Taking the family see PR Friday morning. Can't wait for this film. I love Del Toro's films.

I don't see myself seeing it in theaters but I never wish for a movie to suck. Hopefully it's good and Ryan Reynolds has that franchise he so desperately craves.

I'm seeing the movie regardless but I'm curious to see what reviews are like. I still think it's going to get at least an 80% on RT but of course I could be wrong.

I'd be happy with the 70s.

I like RR a lot. I never watched him in Van Wilder stuff, but what I've seen from him in Buried/Chaos Theory etc has been good.

I'm seeing this tomorrow night, I am quite glad to say.

So lucky. In 3D I assume? I would like to know how that is since I want to see this in IMAX my first time but its gonna come with 3D. If its pointless or just terrible I'll have to go with 2D.

All the *****ing coming from the Rim/Del Toro fanboys is so goddamn pathetic to me. The same people saying that the media is trying to sink it and screaming "don't talk about the box office!" are the same people who bashed other films for their lack of box office prowless. I'm sorry, I like Del Toro but I don't deal in hypocrisy or delusions.

It's a fact that the marketing has been bad and there is nothing wrong with discussing that or whether it's going to be a success or not. I didn't see the keyboard warriors defending The Lone Ranger and After Earth, most of them seem to gleefully await those movies failure and were rooting on them to fail. I guess Verbinski and M. Night aren't nerdy enough to root for.

I'd like to say to Devin Faraci and all the other criers to put their money where their mouth is and never bring up box office again for any movie ever. You can't just give Del Toro a special pass. Either this story can be talked about or none of them can be.

All I know is...the only movie my wife has been really looking forward to seeing this summer is Pacific Rim.

You mean what matters to your wife is she wants to see the film? What in the world is wrong with her?

Hellboy's on Netflix, I might watch it before Rim. I did Watch Mimic again and it's not a great movie but I still think that it was decent for a 90's monster movie that Del Toro didn't have full control over.

Hey, is Doug Jones involved in Rim?

Been trying to figure that out ever since she agreed to date me.

We love the Hellboy movies...watched both again just two weeks ago.

I haven't seen Mimic in years, need to rewatch it.

Jones' IMDB page says he isn't involved with it.

I'll be watching both Hellboy films, Blade 2, The Devil's Backbone and Pan's Labyrinth this week.

I love Del Toro, but I'm going to pass on this. Sorry, but I've had enough disaster porn for one summer.

Hellboy was awesome, I really hope they give the greenlight to the 3rd film. I know they didn't make much money, but for fans of the character it's one of the more faithfully adapted comic book movies, all-be-it Hell Boy is supposed to be a lot younger than Perlman.

I thought he would be involved. Wah, wah. It's not a big deal. I'll still get to see the irreplaceable Ron Pearlman.

Mimic still has some really creepy and effective scenes. The idea of a giant bug that can look like a human is just a freaky and awesome idea.

What if a good deal of people tell you its awesome?

Also, people need to stop acting like Del Toro is box office gold when he never was. He was never at the level of a Nolan, Spielberg, Jackson, or Cameron like some Del Toro fans like to think.

TO Hypers who have seen the movie: Is the story well done behind Pacific Rim (I seem to recall Del Toro saying that he wanted to take the story past the action, to showcase themes of family and the sort) or is it another disasterporn.avi?

My wife and I will be seeing it, too. She is mostly looking forward to it because of Charlie Hunnam.
