Man of Steel was way too loud for me on both viewings. The third act was just "LOUD NOISES!!!"

It would be great if this did well enough for a sequel but it doesn't need one. The story feels perfectly self contained, which I was very glad for.

This just feels like the tip of the iceberg for me. Yes the story works very well as one film, not unlike the original Star Wars. But like Star Wars, I feel like there is so much to explore, and that perhaps the best is yet to come. Guillermo sounds like he has plenty of ideas and that he clearly held some stuff back.

Dat Vengeance crash.
For me it was the assault on the Star Fleet meeting that nearly left me deaf. The jumpship firing was booming. Though the chase and the crash were pretty loud as well.

Loved this movie. While it did get kinda dull before the last few fights, I have no complaints.

Huge ass robots (that actually felt like they were HUGE) fighting beasts of creatures, smashing and breaking everything around them...AWESOME.

Made me feel like a kid again, wanted to go home and play with some cool robot toys :woot:

9/10

Bwahahah .... so true. It was an assult on my ears.

Was the 3D worth it? I heard it was post conversion.

thanks!

I saw IMAX 3D which was as immersive as I think this film could have gotten. I would reccomend it for sure, the 3D is very well done. I didn't know it was post converted til you told me! Haha! So yeah I'd say it's good. $15.50 here in Missouri, USA so I think it was worth it for sure. Good raucous action debris flying at your face and most importantly you felt like you were standing right next to a Kaiju and Jaeger, pretty damn cool.

saw this in Imax 3D and loved it...easily my second favorite movie of the summer (behind MOS)
the theater was 75% full but the audience loved it...people stayed until the end and then clapped at the dedication at the end

I saw it last night and thought it was wonderful. I had a few issues, but those belonged more my media and kajju preferences. The movie itself was just excellent. I really enjoyed it.

10/10 for me.

Yeah I would have liked to see more of Crimson Typhoon as well, also perhaps more of the Sydney fight. Also, there was a lack of use of Tesla Fists. I would have really liked to see Cherno Alpha fight on land due to the thought that went into the design and mentioned in some of the other materials, with the feet of the machine designed to anchor itself into the ground.

I think the film hid some of the designs a little too much, especially towards the beginning. One thing I did appreciate though was the extent to which the scenes set in Mako's memories were committed to the ground level perspective. While I would have liked to see more of the Kaiju and wanted to see more of the Jaeger in action (Was that Tacit Ronin?) that scene really sold how frightening the situation was rather than being "cool". I thought it was really well done.

Unless I completely missed it...[BLACKOUT]where was Coyote Tang in the movie?[/BLACKOUT]

I don't remember this shot being in the film

By the way, I loved seeing Clifton Collins Jr.

I think
it was the Jaeger that Pentecost was piloting when he saved Mako in her childhood memories.

Yeah that's what I had thought, [BLACKOUT]but it wasn't clear enough to make out. Makes sense considering the location. However, for something that could cater to Japan, surprising they didn't feature it more in the movie.[/BLACKOUT]

I haven't seen it yet but plan to tomorrow. What's surprised me is the high amount of critics who actually like it. Most of the time they pan a movie like this.
