Part VI (Spoiler Thread)

Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen didn't "get the shaft" lol

McGregor is an executive producer on the show. They're both very proud of it.
You know them personally? Does Ewan say, "hell there" in real life? Can you tell us who MEW is playing on Ahsoka?

TWICE!

What makes this more hilarious is at the start, he says the RotS line again, and once again, fails to kill him. But this time, without the excuse of thinking he left him for dead.
"I will do what I must" turned into "I showed him mercy". Huh? Why? When have you ever cared about mercy? Where was the mercy when you cut off all your brother's limbs and left him to burn alive. :funny:

Nobody wanted Luke to kill Vader. Obi-Wan & Yoda wanted Luke to face Vader in order to turn Vader.

The plan worked.
Um... what? This is literally not true in the slightest.

Never, not once, does Obi-Wan's Force Ghost or Yoda tell Luke "You need to kill Vader." They want Luke to face him again despite knowing how much stronger Vader is.

It's ridiculous to think Obi-Wan & Yoda actually expected Luke to defeat Vader in combat. It was all about compassion.

Luke felt the conflict in Vader. Yoda & Obi-Wan did too.

can you point me to the scene in particular you are talking about, I would like to watch it again. I might have glazed over it. The show is pretty bad and sometimes I laugh at its stupidity, so I might miss something.
Sheev talking to Vader. He tells him his feelings for his old master has weakened him, which is exactly what happens with Vader and Luke.

Well, Rodriquez is out, maybe Chow will be next. Although John did write the book of boba, but they will be dropping like flies if these shows keep being duds.

Answer this. Why didn't Obi-Wan tell Luke, Vader was his papa? Why did he tell him that Vader killed his father, setting up Vader as Luke's enemy?

"My name is Ewan McGregor. I am the star and producer of OBI-WAN KENOBI on Disney Plus. My new Star Wars show is awful. Horrendous. Laughable. Me and my co-star Hayden Christensen clearly got the shaft. We're only promoting the show vehemently and positively because we're being paid to do so. We don't mind lying through our teeth. Thank You for having an interest in this show I've worked on for four years now that I secretly despise."

Luke: "I can't kill my own father."

Obi Wan: "Then the Emperor has already won."

Seems pretty clear to me what Obi Wan wants.

Yeah, yeah, but what about MEW?

Yeah, that was stupid here. Especially since his feelings for Kenobi should just be pure hatred and anger, which if anything should give him focus and power in the dark side.

However, I am not sure I agree with you that Ahsoka got in on Rebels. It has been a while so my memory might be fuzzy, but I seem to recall that Ahsoka didn't get through to him at all and that he was going to kill her if Ezra didn't save her.

They show his face questioning it, before deciding to slice her in half but after he says her name, twice. And then Ezra ruined my life.

Let's not forget, Yoda sent out Obi Wan to kill Vader. He gave up on Anakin long before Kenobi.
At the time of ROTS, he did, but that plan failed. And Yoda is a very wise dude, who had lots of time to think about it all in the intervening years. In his zen way, he very much left how Luke was to confront Vader up to Luke himself. Unlike Obi-Wan, he didn't necessarily say that Luke had to kill Vader to win.

"Never liked that boy, did I." - Yoda, direct quote. :o
Don't blame him. Just look at this creep :o

Which I do think he learned from. Which is why he tells Luke specifically he must confront Vader.
Exactly. Obi Wan let his feels get in the way, and didn't finish the job. That resulted in the most dangerous man in the galaxy being born. It was important for Kenobi to hide the truth because he didn't want Luke to make the same mistake and be conflicted as him. At least I thought because now Obi Wan just walked away for reasons...

Also, now I want to know what Vader meant by showing Kenobi the true nature of the force after this battle :funny:

Ok watched that part again. Yes Vader shouldn't have feelings for kenobi. I don't think this is part of his redemption though, just part of him dealing with Kenobi again. The redemption to me is only from knowing about his kid. Kenobi isn't what makes him think about turning in the slightest at least not in A New Hope. This show does a poor job of that and yes I can see your point of view that the writers are trying to hint at redemption already. I still don't believe any redemption should cross his mind until he finds out about Luke.

Obi-Wan and Yoda didn't want Luke to kill Vader.

Here's a guy named George Lucas to clarify it for the people here:

I'm surprised people actually thought Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi MASTER, wanted Luke Skywalker to kill his own Father.

Not sure how Padme turned around and saw this like "gotta get me some of that." :o
Given how often you see women with ******* guys, who make everyone question what does she see in him, there is a lot of truth in George's writing there. :hehe:
