Clarification. I get the point you are trying to make. I do not agree with it, however. But let me illustrate, if I can, what makes your idea so unpalatable to me: "Welcome to America! Home of the free, land of the brave! The place where you can be anyone you want to be and accomplish anything you want to, all on your own terms! You will experience freedom like you have never known or appreciated here in the United States of America. However, if you do not learn American English then you will be required to leave and return to wherever the hell it is you came from."

Hypocrisy much? Besides, I sure as hell don't want my tax dollars going towards enforcing something so ridiculous, nor do I want the government to get any bigger than they already are for such a purpose.

Actually, no, because that would be using my tax dollars to ensure that people can continue to remain free and make their own choices about what languages they will choose to learn and use in this country. Your plan would use my tax dollars to force people to do something, just because you don't like anyone speaking a language you don't understand.
