The Amazing Spider-Man Percy Jackson's Logan Lerman in Early Talks for Spider-Man

Personally, I think it’s a big mistake to go with the “younger, high school” Peter Parker. I think they should go with a much older, more mature, collegian student Peter Parker… and cast that way.

I thought he was the best of all the options I'd seen for recasting Peter Parker, so I'd be happy with this.

Didn't we already get the older route? How long was Peter in high school in the movies? For 1/2 or a 1/3 of the Movie? After Spectacular Spider-Man I don't mind to see some school trouble.

If its true hopefully they announce it soon. I hope it is personally, he is quite a good actor, was great in 3:10 To Yuma.

I'm not sure what we got under Raimi; yet, I fear we are going to get much of the same...as far as maturity and real world situation is concern. I don't want to see senseless teenage fights, tripping, who's taking who to the dance, the bully picking on me, teachers & faculty with no authority, being pranked with immature comedy.

But hey, maybe that's just me.

It's said that that short gif of Lerman gives off more of a Spidey vibe, than 3 Movies with Maguire.

Hopefully everything works out and Lerman is the new Parker.

As far as I am concerned, they have already chosen Lerman and are just trying to turn it into a giant hoopla-induced announcement so's we get all schoolgirly about it.

This is why fancasting doesn't work. They just choose the newest face out there that fits the description.

If the fans should cast anyone, it should be Thomas Dekker, not Lerman. He can keep PJO.

This is the direction they're going with the franchise then YES, Plz!

I'll see it anyways cause I'm a Spidey ****e, lol, but I'll be disappointed if it's not him.
this looks alot more like spidey than that posted up there.
not fancasting...just a good move.

and with a solid grand 80 million dollar budget, I'm sure we'll get incredibly **** action scenes... Count me in.. Spider-Man with **** action... I can't wait!

Lerman's always been my choice for the high school Peter (if they were going that route) so I'm quite happy with this.

This makes me so happy :)

Dekker is awful in everything I have ever seen him in and one of the weak points in NOES that I'm expecting. And it looks like the fans "casting" this got their way instead :oldrazz:

I don't believe Sony hasn't had any talks with any actors for a second.
It's pretty well known by reporters and bloggers that there's a list of names of who they want for the Peter Parker role.

Mr. Logan Lerman was 2nd (SECOND) on that list.
This is info that was leaked. I don't have links to back it up, but I've spoken to a couple of people who don't even know each other who report on these things and they've both said the same thing. These are ppl who I've had the pleasure of trusting in the past :)

I'm gonna connect the dots here, which is why I believe Logan is locked down for the role. Of course I could be wrong, we could all be wrong, but based on what we've all read and heard, this is my strong assumption :

Percy Jackson is a box office success. The first of 2010, actually.
It's made more money than 90% of the films in this kind of kid-friendly genre. AND it's drops have been steady and not huge or fast. 4 weeks in and the movie is at number 5 at the BO. 20th Century Fox has stated that if the picture makes $100 million or more (it took $95 million to make), then they would greenlight a sequel. As of today, it has made almost $200 million World Wide. Fox is reportedly VERY happy with it's success. Since then, I've been told Sony bumped Logan to the number 1 spot on that list. Because it shows that Logan can carry an action film as a lead actor AND that audiences have accepted him.

HOWEVER, no sequel has been announced yet. What's the hold up? Why not announce it already? It's already surpassed its budget, and even though reviews were mixed, audiences and kids generally loved it for the most part.

SPIDER-MAN. If it weren't for Fox wanting a sequel for Percy Jackson, Sony would have Logan confirmed and announced already for Spider-Man. Both sides are staying quiet about the future of both franchises, is it just coincidence that they both *might* feature the same lead actor?

As of now, I believe, Sony and Fox are probably hammering out how to get Logan for both franchises without sacrificing or interferring with one anothers schedule and filming. Think of how CLOSE both films would have to be released by if they started filming this year! Not to mention all the press touring Logan would have to do for BOTH films.

I really hope they don't make him choose one over the other. What a tremendous amount of pressure that would be :(

Ta-daaaaaaaa! I KNEW it! :D

They have the same amount of letters in their name, this confirms it.
