Inside sources say that Percy Jackson star, Logan Lerman has been cast in the Sony reboot of the Spider-Man film series. Director Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer) is set to helm the first film in what I’m guessing will be another trilogy although that has not been confirmed at this time.

The story takes the characters back to high school in the New York City borough of Queens. No word yet on who has been cast as Peter Parker’s love interest Mary Jane Watson formerly played by Kirsten Dunst or his best friend Harry Osborn previously played by Mr. James Franco.

Webb is in talks with Avatar director James Cameron to use his cameras and technique to film the entire movie in 3-D.


The official announcement will no doubt come shortly along with more details to follow.

its not a bad choice at all...not the best...but certainly one of the top tier casting choices ive seen...but i still wouldnt believe those sites and i still dont think this is true.

I really like this choice for Peter/Spider-Man. First time I saw those commercials "I said holly **** we've got our Spider-Man!". Then days later Access Hollywood interview Lerman about it. It was so funny, like fate. As if everybody in America saw the trailer at the same time and thought the exact same thing. They told their friends about it on the internet, it created a buzz and the entertainment press jumped on it.

By the way if this kid should be Peter Parker, his co-star from Jack & Bobby should be a young Cyclops in X-Men: First Class.

Apparently Sony has said it's untrue and they have not been in talks with any actor. Just seems weird to me in all that Lerman himself would initially say he was up for the role.

Whole situation is weird. Either way, I just wish they'd at least reveals whose Spider-Man already so we can get rid of this particular merry go round of rumors.

Like Terry said, they're hyping things up, keeping the buzz going and seeing people jump through hoops and drive themselves nuts with antcipation, which brings me back to what I said. Sony are deliberating and imo I think it's fair at the very least to just assume Logan has the role until proen otherwise.

Didn't Sony also say that the crew for Spider-Man 4 was only taking a holiday break in December and that there was no delay in filming(when certain sites started reporting the delays). Well we know what happened next.
