The Amazing Spider-Man Percy Jackson's Logan Lerman in Early Talks for Spider-Man

Apparently still waiting, Sony hasn't confirmed anything

Could it be because of Fox and the Percy Jackson sequel?

I believe so. I really do. The other actors who were in Percy Jackson alongside Logan all have other films in the works, Logan DOESN'T. I hardly believe that no one has given him any new scripts to read, I mean really.

There has been no word on a Percy sequel. Studio said if it made $100 million they'll greenlight a sequel. It's made over $200 million WW. I find this highly suspicious.

Now, we all know when it comes to casting and rumors, ppl are always throwing a few names into the mix. Logan has been pretty consistant for the rumored role of Spidey from the get-go. There HAS to be truth to this, and Sony saying he was "never" on the list to begin with is complete and utter ********. So that leads me to believe them denying is just the same.

I remember just recently with the new Scream........ppl were saying left right and center Wes was onboard to direct. Wes wouldn't confirm anything. THEN he even took to Twitter and tweeted that Variety (I think it was Variety, could be wrong) had got it all wrong when they confirmed he'd be back. Shortly after, he confirms he's back. WTF lol?

I don't care at this point, give it to Lerman and be done with it. The majority of us WANT Lerman anyway!

Well put, MOST of us want Lerman as Spidey - can't you see that Sony!?

This whole he is he isn't hoopla is kinda tainting the whole thing now. I think OFFICIALLY announcing it SONY would be a little more tactfull.

Relax, there are other GOOD Peter/Spidey actors out there. You just have to hope that they actually cast one of the good ones.

they are not making this movie for the fans.

I've noticed that kid's acting in both 'Zathura' and 'Bridge to Teribitha' he can genuinely act, and very well too.
I have not seen this Lerman kid in anything, but if folk are blaming his performance in 'Percy Jackson' on the script and directing, that's not much of an excuse, he should still be able to show good acting chops despite this. Many great/good actors still have their chops despite being the most horrendous of projects.
I know that some folk feel Chris Columbus does not give his young actors enough credit, and so is lax on the directing front with them (and that's why the kids were better in later Harry Potter films), but the kid should still have been able to exhibit some charisma and carry the movie well.

What you all dry about? The kid got rave reviews at Sundance film festival. What's the problem?

I've seen this kid. He's a good actor, I won't deny him that. but spidey, he is not.

Lerman aint that bad of a choice, but I stand by the fact that they should snag unknowns.

Possibly because I want to be an actor :o

Agreed. He doesn't seem like he would be the one who gets bullied in school and would then turn around and go saving people.

He doesn't really seem like the guy who no one expects to be a superhero.

That's because the film fails in many respects to the book it's based on, and some of the dialogue is cheesy and stupid. BUT Logan holds his own throughout the film, so I don't agree that a good actor would be able to save a bad movie (Percy isn't bad, I really enjoyed it, it just has some problems), because we've all seen great actors do horrible movies. Logan DID show lots of charisma and his character could have easily been Peter Parker - if all the Greek mythos was replaced with Spider-man mythos. He has a very enticing presence onscreen; I usually can't take my eyes off of him when he's in a movie.

But I'm going to have to be frank about this, and I hope ppl don't blast me and understand where I'm coming from. I think ppl want him as Spidey because they like him as an actor -but also because he seems like a genuine person. he doesn't seem hellbent on being a celebrity, and actually comes across as quite laid back and private. I think ppl respect that these days because its a breath of fresh air compared to everyone else in Hollywood. He's in it for the WORK and love of the CRAFT. watch some of his interviews, he's great!

You really need to watch him in movies like Meet Bill, My One and Only and 3:10 to Yuma. And he wasn't bad at all in Percy Jackson but the script was so bland there wasn't much he could do with it. It's sad that people are basing his acting chops off of such poorly written and directed film.

That Hutcherson kid used to be a tad pudgy, but he's slimmed down a lot since the Zathura days.

HitFix are still standing by their source even though sony have officially debunked the lerman story

Becasue Sony "officially" saying anything doesn't mean anything. :o

Here's a decent article, although mostly rehash, throws in a good point and hopefull news for pro-Lerman enthusiasts.

http://www.cinemaspy.com/article.php?id=4355

"The site claims sources who say the role is Lerman’s to lose, and others countering that Lerman is already out of the running for it. My initial knee-jerk reaction was to assume Lerman is simply not under contract yet, so Sony is in full denial mode until a deal can be finalized, lest they give his agent too much leverage. Now it appears Marvel has a plan that extends beyond Lerman, and that’s good, since that July 2012 due date for a new Spider-film is looming ever-larger."

Go Spidey

Just saw 3:10 To Yuma on cable.

Sony - what the hell are you waiting for in regards to Logan Lerman?
