Damon Lindelof Talks Prometheus and Prequels
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gI-LGKQVOK0

I'm not sure I completely agree with Lindelof about the prequel. Yes, the element of surprise is taken away and if it is done poorly (i.e. giving unsatisfactory answers to questions) it can cheapen the mythology. But I do think there's a certain level of entertainment in seeing things first-hand that are merely hinted at. It can be fun to see how the story got to where it does in the prior film, even if it is known where it will end up. The Star Wars prequels aren't good examples, though.

What's with the Yutani emblem? Aren't they the competition at this point?

Yeah. That seems to be how Shaw got the funding for the expedition....the viral video deliberately muddles the audio close to the end, but I think it's pretty clear she says that if Weyland doesn't fund her, she'll take her findings to Yutani instead.

Cool poster. That new viral is awesome too. I loves me some Noomi!

At first glance I liked that poster but now I'm noticing a ton of problems. Charlize's head looks really Photoshopped in that suit and it's also kind of promoting Prometheus as a space action flick.

Not to mention it's completely spoiling what happens to both ships. Not like that hasn't been spoiled a million times over already :p

I'd laugh if all we've seen only comes from the first half hour of the film.

Poster is fine I guess but the mysterious and atmosphery ones were a lot better.

Well, I think the other "Derelict(?)" crashing was kind of a forgone conclusion, considering the state the crew in A L I E N find the other Derelict in.

Also, if they're that inclined to "spoil" this part on the poster, it's probably not even the biggest mystery/surprise in the film, which indicates that there's the possibility of a more mysterious twist yet to be revealed.

I've stopped watching the trailers and spots but I like that international poster, it would be ideal for the front of the steelbook Blu Ray release. :D

It could be, but I wish they'd kept it off the poster. Now when we go see the movie, we knew the fate of these ships even before it happens.

I haven't seen anything extra than what I've seen before Avengers as far as previews. This movie looks like it could be pretty epic though.

If no theater is playing it in 2D near you then these are what you need:

2-D Glasses

My best friend gets head aches from 3D so I got her a pair as a present and she says they work great, just like watching it in 2D.

I appreciate the thought, but they don't look like they would be comfortable over my glasses, and I can't see a thing without them.

And it turns out another film I was looking forward to seeing is not available in 2D either. So this is getting irritating. The experience of seeing a film, especially one like Prometheus I have followed since announcement, is gradually being pulled away from myself, my family and many other people. :csad:

It's bad enough we were shoved in the corner of the cinema to see The Avengers, like the cinema wanted us out of the way while they showed the 3D in on the bigger screen.

I sent an e-mail to the Odeon, and I tried the distributor, but of course I'd get no reply from either of them on the subject.

Well, it is the international poster (notice the date is June 6th instead of 8th), so a lot of us in the U.S. won't even see it.

No i think Sasha is quite dull...LOL
A.O. Scott of the New York Times disagrees, stating: "(she's) distinguished both by the extremity of what she is willing to do and an unusual degree of intellectual seriousness about doing it."

I'm inclined to side with A.O.
