Naw
I'm hoping they flesh out Shaw and go indepth why is is still a christian AND a scientist. I obviously want to see more David and I'm hoping for more Wayland (as a young man).
He was in Inglorious Basterds and First Class. However I highly suggest you check out his films directed by Steve McQueen, Hunger and Shame. Amazing performances by him in both. Also, if you don't mind getting sad, give Eden Lake a go.

I know, I wanted to beat the everloving **** out of all those chavs. Messed up movie.Eden Lake........no film has ever inspired more anger in myself and my friends.
Just...Ugh
Little punk needed his ass kicked.
Just watched it again in Real 3D...and IMAX 3D is the better of the two.
Anyways, this movie is so fantastic, I can't wait to give my parents traumatic experience watching this with them in the winter on Blu ray.
I don't know why people are complaining..yes it didnt have all the answers...but it was suspenseful from start to finish..the 3D was superior, the violence was spectacular...no PG13 BS like AVP...and Ridley Scott is making more, so we have 2 new chapters to look forward to.
I haven't seen the movie or read this spoiler filled article but I thought you guys might be interested in it.

I liked it but the complaints are mainly:
-How did the scientists, one of whom was in charge of 3D-mapping the site/ship and had a video screen of his digital "dogs" on his suit, get lost?
-Why did Shaw and Vickers feel the need to run straight from a narrow ship that was falling directly at them?
i just read an interview with Lindelof. he said that they first translated what David said to the engineer but Scott changed his mind and removed it.
which in a way is funny. because it looks like everytime they had an aswer or explanation in the script or in the editing room they removed it. i guess its easier to promote the sequel.

but how complex are the questions from the movie? Finally saw this last night, and I thought it was amazing and havent been able to stop thinking about it since.
Yes there are plot holes and yes there are story elements that are poorly portrayed (Scott's films often have this though, I think this is a reason why he isnt one of my absolute favourites but he does make some, SOME great films) but overall I loved the movie. The questions it raises are very interesting about our existence and higher powers, etc, this is probably the reason it gets people thinking.
I do wish it would have tied more into Alien, as sequels are never a sure thing these days, but the ties that were there were intriguing and though I was initially dissapointed it didnt answer more questions, when I think about it I am glad they didnt de-mystify the aliens too much. Either way, I cant wait for more movies in the series, hope it makes enough money to guarantee they get made.
9/10, but I can see this rising on subsequent viewings.
Here you goIs it rude of me to ask you to post the link again?

For some of those saying they don't get the movie and want to know the motivations/reasons behind Shaw and Davids actions here is a rather insightful interview with Fassbender and Rapace in which they talk about that stuff

''what if aliens created us'' . is there anything else that its asking? the more i think about the movie the more i have a problem that they dont focus enough time on David. engineers created us humans and humans created David. this would be a 2 hour movie.
because just asking the question without exploring it is not enough IMO for a good scifi movie.
David (to the Engineer)- 'You see that old guy there? He says your mother is like a bus, $2 and you get to ride all day'

I almost forgot he was in that. He had one of the best lines in the movie too ("Then we shall fight in the shade.")And Snyder's 300 as well. Probably his first "big" film.
I would love for a Prometheus sequel to make a cool gay action hero like the Alien series made a cool female action here. No touching coming out stories. No puppy love. No brutal murder of the hero by bigots at the end like how all gay movies end but one where the character is really cool and kick ass.
Oh well. Would probably never happen.
I can't wait for a Prometheus sequel. Part of the fun I think if the mystery and trying to guess whats going on. I reckon alot of people take themselves too seriously when they wanted to know ALL the secrets of the Alien universe in one movie.

Can't wait to see this. Probably catch it this weekend.
The thing that made me angriest in this movie is that the questions about Shaw and the Engineers aren't left unanswered to leave us in a state of wonder, they are left so that they can be answered in a sequel. I hate it when movies do this. I want to watch a story, not a prologue.
