For most people on the planet, "religious" falls outside the Judeo-Christian paradigm, thus mysticism, metaphysics, and polytheism is "religious" for many people.

Maybe but it doesn't make it true. You put in the same bag metaphysics which is not a religion but more a philosophical principal, polytheism which is the belief in many gods and mysticism which is part of a religion or faith.
Note : I am no expert, this is just the small knowledge I have on the subject.

I would still retcon the Predator pyramids, especially based on the original pyramid concept for Scott's Alien film, which is where Anderson got the Pyramid idea in the first place. I would simply have the Predators altering the ruins and finding the Xenomorph eggs in the ruins, which would be a huge homage to the original Alien film concept, where the crew of the Nostromo originally found the eggs in a massive pyramid and not the Derelict.

I am not sure, only the Alien historian would know the reference.

Anyway, Scott said that the link to the Alien universe we know will be in the 3rd act so I guess it will be a minor part of the whole movie and the actual homage I think.
If only AvP had not been made your idea could have been worked out ( why the Jockey race would have left such a dangerous creature on a planet about to be populated after the cleaning job is done ? ). My opinion.

If the Jockey's made the Alien as a clean up source for a planet, how the hell do you control them?

We already know the Jokey can get raped by an Alien because of the first film, Jockey had a burst chest.

Once the planet is cleaned then what? Then what? You still got acid bleeding mofo's running around so unless they got an planetary EMP that kills them all instantly I don't see how this is gonna work.


Secondly:
We know for a fact the Alien creature is not going to be in this.

We know they'll be some reference or something to it but it won't be in it as it was in the other films because we've heard a lot "it's in the same universe but not an Alien film..blahblahblah".

We're just gonna have to wait and see in time what happens, I'm worried to be honest because people are going to expect something new and not done before, but whatever happens people always find a way to complain.

Actually my main fear is that people are going in thinking it's going to be some sort of Alien film.

When they watch it and realise it has nothing to do with Aliens, but a whole new story arc with different stuff they may be disappointed and might not get accustomed to this new model so to speak.

I wonder if what happens in this film is the reason humans evolved on earth. Maybe the "Fire" stolen from the gods by Prometheus is what causes us to develop into a sentient species here on earth.

Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions but the first thing I thought after seeing those set location pictures is LV-426.

Edit- Never mind. Just read that Iceland is being used for a beginning of time sequence so I'm assuming that is what this is. Still though, I definitely got an LV-426 vibe from those pictures.

The story summary says that it takes place years or decades before Alien(1) if I am not mistaken and the stolen "fire" is the Space Jockey bio-tech.

Note : not 100% certainty.

In the Alien disc commentary Scott says about the Derelict and the Jockey that they are or could be a war ship and the eggs/face hugger/etc the weapon but that was at the time of Alien maybe they will still use this theory.
If not we can assume that the Jockeys have a way to eliminate the aliens once the job is done since they created them.

PS : an EMP can't kill biologic creatures ( unless in Matrix where it kills the bio-electronic sentinels ).
