A hellcycle question answered;

2. I'm wondering if the bike operates on it's own or can be controlled by GR when he's not on it.

The bike has it's own personality and can move on it's own. We have a scene where Ghost Rider breaks out of jail and we intercut with Johnny's chopper as it transforms and breaks out of the impound to join him. The Hellcycle serves its master and will do anything to get to him when needed.

I'm really happy that they went with the bike doing that. Any ideas that come from the 2nd series are A okay with me. Plus, the description of that jail scene is awesome. That's going to be one great sequence I say!

Does GR bike run on gas. Sense im just wondering if he runs out of gas would he have any money with him to buy more gas or would he just walking everywhere? :ghost:

powered by Hellfire...talk about a re-usable power source!
only problem will be the daily 24 hr repairs of the streets, highways, buildings...heh

Isn't everytime he changes into the Rider his skin is suppose to be melting and in great pain or is that just the first time it happens, because in the "lets ride" scene he just turns into the Rider pretty darn fast and doesn't look to bother him at all lol

noticed that too...my guess is that by the end of the film he comes to some kind of agreement w/ GR. he doesnt fight the transformation anymore...would go very quick. before that however as he fights against the change it takes longer and he feels everything.
kind of like you are supposed to rip a band aid off quickly...still hurts but not as bad if you do it slowwwllyyy. just a guess though

Probably thought it would not translate well on to the big screen showing Blaze in pain every time that he changed and that it would be more fun for the audience if he simply morphed into Ghost Rider in a sheet of flames

Hellfire+Gas = Bad Combination

I think it runs on the negative energy coming from GR fans who saw Ghost Rider discontinued by Marvel Comics.

well... the trailer does show him in pain

Perhaps that is just the initial transformation when he fiirst turns but all the subsequent transformations after that are smooth and simple morphs.

But since none of us have seen the movie I could be totally wrong so forget I even spoke. In fact forget I even exist. :(

Now if they showed his face melting and stuff then it would lean more towards an R rating lol. Sorry to get this off topic, but that was my ultimate question. As for your question, i'd be more worried about seeing a guy with his head on fire (and it's suppose to be like that) ;)

indiana jones had face melting and it wasnt R......

you underestimate PG-13..... POTC got away with a slid throught...davinci got away with you know what...

I do not know what and don't tell me cause I haven't seen it yet

The ultimate question is:

Are these the droids I'm looking for?

I think you're probably right on that BG. The more he fights it, the slowly the transformation. Having said that, I'm pretty sure the transformation always happened quick in the comics yet at times (especially in the Dan series) they slowed it down for us so we could visually see the pain involved. After all, his flesh is melting from the inside out. That gotta hurt.

I've been hoping for a very long time, posted about it tonnes a times, that they have at least one transformation that is slowed down. I really wanna see that as I've seen it so many times on non moving pages. Perhaps that's what evolves out of that part in the teaser where Cage is on his knees screaming, who knows?

He's got plenty of smoke rising off him it looks like. I suspect you'll get your wish, at least for the first transformation.

If they do have it, I just hope they don't pull punches. I'm not a huge fan of gore n stuff, but I'd like to see Johnny fight the change and fail resulting in melting flesh falling off his bones...stuff like that.

In fact I imagine it looking a lot like the guy in Raiders.

maybe....but i agree that the 1st transformation should be slow and painful. the audience needs to know right from the beginning JB is cursed...that it isnt a good thing whats happened to him. at least in the beginning before he learns some control which i suspect Caretaker will teach him.
im hoping that somewhere during the movie one of the demons (or Mephisto) makes a cryptic statement alluding that GR isnt just an ordinary demon. just something which will leave it open for later films that GR will eventually get stronger and dominate Blaze like he did in the later part of the 70s series.

Well, the fact that we see 2 Ghost Riders is one hint that Blaze could very well be something other than the 'Spirit of Vengeance'. That's if we're reading things right. Who knows what the hells (hehe) going on?

Jesus this is a good post. I'll have to make a thread in tech support about it.

That's exactly why I think it can and should be done for Ghost Rider. It'll look a hell of a lot better than those days and even that didn't look too horrible. I think to not have the slow transformation, brutal, not gorey but... graphic, would be a waste of a great opportunity.
