This game will finally be making its way to the Xbox Ones Backwards Compatibility library this Friday.
yeah, that's probably why we never saw Skyrim added to BC, despite it also being a top requested game. No real reason for a BC version if there's a remaster.
I'd imagine Bioshock Infinite won't be BC either due to it being part of the Bioshock Remaster Collection.
Infinite and Skyrim were the 2 games I was most looking forward to for BC.
but I'm glad that both games are getting the Remaster treatment so I can play them on my PS4.
I get that, but is it really necessary? If they are basically going to build it from the ground up, why waste that time instead of working on a sequel? Because if it isn't built from the ground up, what is the point of a remaster of a game already in HD?I understand that Darth. Still just saying a RDR (one of if not their most popular title) should get a remaster.
It probably is. They optimized it for the consoles, so no "unreserved" version is out there.I'm surprised RDR never got a PC release. I wonder if that's part of the reason it was never remastered.

GTAV didn't require a ton of man hours to remaster. It is simply the PC version, tweaked.

Don't remasters typically get handed off to outside studios?
A lot of awesome things we fans want aren't "necessary" haha. A lot of just want it. Is that so bad?I still have my ps3 and my GOTY ps3 copy. No it isn't necessary. Not gonna stop me and many others from wanting a remastered addition that's all.

I have never had a problem with RDR on my HD screens, so either way it works. How many remasters which are remakes (like the new version of Odin Sphere) aren't "better versions", usually the PC version, of an older game?which was a ton of work. There was no PC version when GTA V came out on PS4/360. That didnt happen till the following year
most remasters arent built from the ground up. The point is to put it on platforms the game isnt available on. Besides the game wasnt HD on PS3. It ran at a native resolution of 640p. A remaster at 1080p/60fps would be a big jump for it

GTA V is a perfect example of how it works. The PC version was made alongside the remasters. Because they are essentially the same thing.
Anyone know if Undead Nightmare will work with this? I wonder if I should just buy the game on Xbox Marketplace since it's on sale or get the GoTY with Undead Nightmare included.
Remasters and Remakes are two different things, but serves the same purpose. Odin Sphere is a remake. God of War is a remaster.remasters and remakes are two different things
Nearly every Sony published remaster is not a PC version of an older game and they've done alot of those since last gen. Tomb Raider Definitive Edition was the first 3rd party one from this gen that wasnt. FFX, X-2 and XII (when it comes out) will also qualify. Ditto on the upcoming Batman Arkham Collection
And yes GTA V was made along side the PC version, which is different than what you were donwplaying. That work wasnt done when the PS4/XB1 was created. It took an additional year after the original launch. It wasnt some simple port and even then it took even longer to complete the PC version
Im aware of that but you just said in your last post that remasters are remakes, which is why I clarified that they were differentRemasters and Remakes are two different things, but serves the same purpose. Odin Sphere is a remake. God of War is a remaster.
Nearly every remaster is either a HD version of a game that was not available as such before or the PC version, which basically means it looks and runs close to its fullest potential, though of course still limited in comparison. Even Uncharted played the same idea as the "PC version" concept, as the idea was for it to run and look better then the PS3 version.
GTA V is the exact concept of what I am saying. The date of release is irrelevant because they were still working off the base of the PC version. Because the PC version is the unrestricted version of the game. Unless of course you are WB Interactive.

Did you keep your Xbox 360 copy?
Sales of Red Dead Redemption have jumped over 6000 percent following confirmation it will be playable on Xbox One via backwards compatibility.
According to Amazon.co.uk (thanks, VG24/7), sales of both the original 2010 game and the Game of the Year edition have been boosted by yesterday's confirmation the game is coming to Xbox One this Friday, July 8, 2016.
Backwards compatibility rumours for Red Dead Redemption leaked earlier this year, but Microsoft dismissed the claims as an "error", stating the game had been "accidentally made available" during a test. It initially led the voting as the most-requested Xbox 360 game to be made playable on Xbox One.
In our Red Dead Redemption review, we said: "Red Dead Redemption is a must-play game. Rockstar has taken the Western to new heights and created one of the deepest, most fun, and most gorgeous games around. You can expect the occasional bug or visual hiccup, but you can also expect a fantastic game that offers the Western experience we've all been waiting for.
"Red Dead Redemption is a complete game in every sense -- both the single player and multiplayer modes are excellent -- and still manages to offer an attention to detail you rarely see from a game of this scope."
