RoboCop Reboot - Part 7

I wonder if this was hard R and gory like the original was, might have it done better?

Sure gore would have made it some better along with a toxic waste scene.:cwink: The bad guys could have also been done better also.

Liked it better the second time around (mainly because I was better prepared for it to not be a Robocop movie).

The weak villains and sloppy writing (Alex magically regains his emotions and overcomes his programming with no explanation, and his lack of free will in combat is never even addressed) remain frustrating, but it's enjoyable as a superhero film.

It's also too bad they had him in the awful black suit for most of the film. The silver suit was a fantastic redesign.

^Well, he was back in the silver suit at the end, so if we get a sequel I imagine he will spend the entire movie in that.

Here's hoping we get a sequel!

Just watched this with my family - I loved the original........... And we all thoroughly enjoyed this one!

I don't think I've ever seen Kinnemon before but thought he was great. Far preferred the silver suit (and glad it ended with him getting it back) but the black wasn't bad at all and fit the way he was going at that point.

Wouldn't have minded more synth effect on his voice but only because I love that on any voice that might justify it hehe.

Good film to watch on a lazy Saturday...

I dont get the hate I really dont, its not like this movie crapped all over the original, far from it, and this is coming from a huge original fan.

It did its own thing and was a good movie in its own right. I really think a sequel or 2 would have done wonders for this new universe they set-up.

Now that I finally saw this again, I'll be honest:
RoboCop is the one franchise that NEEDED a remake, the older model is too slow, and he was in a future.
RoboCop 3 had a fast robot moving like a ninja, sure you see an actor's full body in motion, but it is revealed later that the sword ninja is a robot.

It's really good to see RoboCop finally running, getting considerably less damaged, and a color changing camouflage armor.

His armor changes colors? I know in the script stages that it could change according to his situation (i.e. civilian mode/pursuit mode) but I thought that was left out of the final product.

The silver and black armors are two seperate things.

I hope there will be a sequel. This movie made a lot more than it's budget.

Not big enough, international grossing made less than double the budget.
And critically it wasn't well received, same goes to audience reception.
A sequel won't be good investment.

The remake was ok. I'd definately see a sequel

Same here, I think a sequel has a lot potential and I liked the re make a lot. It at least did thing differently than the original.

No reason to make a sequel.

This wasnt terrible or even bad. It was just kinda there

2 things I don't like about this movie:
  • Secondary villain is meh.
  • The character of Lewis is not as important or in anyway as enjoyable as Anne from the original story.

I just don't see this movie being the awful piece of **** people think it is.
