We don't know if that's why they cut stuff that was in the trailer.

TFA is a really good film but it still irritates me that Kylo walking through the forest and activating his saber was cut. So if there are a bunch of stuff from the trailers that I like that ended up on the cutting room floor it's going to irritate me regardless of the overall quality if the film. Especially if I prefer take or moment that was in the trailer compared to what they put in the film. One example of that happening is TDK. A number of Ledger's takes were different in the trailers and I think they were better than the takes that were used in the film. It still irritates me to this day.

But we know Kylo walking through the Forest would have made no sense in context of the final cut. That is why they cut it.

There is no mention of cutting anything for content purposes here. People are saying it is brutal. So what other reason would they cut it for, other then not working?

I know he works for Lucasfilm now, but dude was one of the biggest Star Wars fans in the nerd blog/podcast sphere before getting his dream job, and still is...happy for the guy.
