That, and because the Hype's Search function has disavowed more than a year's worth of posts and brings up ancient history instead. I read some of my older rants, and posts from the plebeians who inspired them, and I remembered all too clearly why I hate people.

In any case, unless you actually want me to verbally abuse you further, I'd rather drop this stupid argument. If you have a plot in mind that you'd want to put into a 1.5-2 hour Batman film of your own creation, we'd be happy to hear it.

Also, just to check, you didn't physically make any of those costumes, did you? I think I remember those were manips of some fan-made film. Either way, you're very talented at both drawing images from scratch as well as altering live-action images.

I think it's always interesting to hear from Dixon. For a decade he basically WAS Batman and it's always neat (to a big geek like me, at least) to hear a comics pro talk about the movies made from their work and the creative process.

Well, to be fair, it's not like there are a lot of writers who keep mum on current events these days. I'm looking at you, Alan Moore, and your crazy, crazy-ass beard.

And actually I was referring to him discussing some of his retcons that made it into Batman Begins and specifically how he felt about comic book adaptations. Plus, he codified pretty much the entire Bat-family for a goodly period, so it's kinda like, say, hearing Chris Claremront talk about the X-Men (only, ya know, without a lot of lesbian subtext. Which is a pity, in my opinion).

Chuck Dixon would hate my idea for a Batman movie, then, because that would definitely seem like two movies crammed into one, and there'd be even more stuff going on. You know, like an actual crime plot, instead of that half-assed "we've got Falcone at the scene and his syndicate is destroyed in one night" bull$hit. What a perversion of a mafia boss that was. I mean, this guy supposedly runs Gotham's underworld, but he himself can be found anywhere near a major drug trafficking operation? Pre-frickin'-posterous.

Nope. Not sure I want to if Devin Grayson is on the book. That's based on the fact that I've read the novelization of 'The Rise of Sin Tzu' (since I never finished the game... also, I like to read superhero novels) and there was some pretty stupid writing in that. I think she's a little too in love with Nightwing.


'The Wire' is a crime drama on HBO (you can rent it, you don't need HBO) that has a very good handle on portraying both cops and criminals in Baltimore. It's created by the same guy who wrote the book on which 'Homicide: Life of the Street' was based, except it's not directed or produced by Barry Levinson and therefore doesn't spend a lot of time of romanticizing the on-and-off Murder Capital of the World.

Anyway, if you like crime shows, check out 'The Wire'

That's what I love about Claremont. Certain other writers will try to get all hoity-toity with you and talk about racism or the future or important social issues. Not Claremont. His attitude is "If I'm gonna write about hot women in tight spandex, I'm damn sure gonna base that on the assumption that they're all having sex off-panel." Which, frankly, is an attitude that could improve ANYTHING. Joel Schumacher movies? Yes. 24? Yes. Voter turnout? Yes.

Now if only he could stop using five hundred words to say "Cyclops got a cup of coffee."

And I'll give The Wire a shot once I'm done Netflixing Battlestar Galactica. Because I have priorities on these sorts of things...

My woman and I are Netflixing 'Battlestar Galactica' as well. Good stuff. There's some pretty terrible stretches of writing sometimes (the Cylons are truly horrible), but overall I like it.

Right before this 'House of M' crap, when Psylocke came back, she kissed like three different X-Men (possibly one of them female) and Dr. Henry McCoy, ever the professional, sniffed her, pawed at her and licked her during her physical exam. I seriously thought it was going to turn into an orgy in the next issue. I was disappointed in more ways than one, as everything from Marvel is disappointing to me and I haven't paid for their current issues in possibly a year.

Then you read it again and you realize it's one really big, really dirty soap opera. It makes Nip/Tuck and The O.C. look like an episode of Full House! And just going by what's CANON...

That last panel? Should stand right beside Watchmen and Dark Knight Returns as a milestone in comics history.

Only that last chunk had any real lesbian subtext of note, and I was actually looking for it.

Hey, I never said anything about Teen Titans and whether your tendency for filthy text (not even subtext, but text) is incongruous with that. I said that about Spider-Man and I stand by it. Hell, I'd say that about any Marvel property that isn't part of the 'Ultimate' universe or the 'MAX' line.

I do appreciate this educational material, but since I've invited a couple of new people to this thread (they probably won't show up) and am still waiting on certain people to continue the Batman discussion (and any on-topic ideas on any superhero property), I'm thinking we should table this discussion for another thread. Seriously, it's not that it's an unworthy topic, but it is off-topic.
