Se7en easily. I'm always bored with SotL, it just reads like an episode of CSI with an English style nutter.

Did Se7en win Oscars for Best Actor, Actress, Director, Screenplay and Picture?

No, that was Silence of the Lambs.

Joking aside, many believe Se7en was denied Best Picture because of it's subject matter, and the fact that Silence had already won.

Hunter Rider, I just don't see how you can continue to call Buffolalo Bill's skin suit "B' Movieish" in defense of a movie about a killer who murders people according to the 7 deadly sins.

Clearly this thread is subjective, and I dont think anyone is going to change anyone else's mind on which movie they liked better, but I think most anyone in the know (ie. film makers, film buffs, film academics, film critics, editors, etc.) would more often than not agree, Silence of the Lambs is the better picture.

By the way, I love the skin suit- disturbing, sick, and inspired by real, pathological serial killers.

Both are terrific movies in different ways. I have the Seven Platinum Edition and the very hard to find Silence of the Lambs Criterion Edition, and love both movies. I don't think one is necessarily superior to the other, even though I would say Seven is more entertaining in a contemporary way, where Silence of the Lambs is a more classical film.

I consider SotL one of the best movies made in the last 15 (or so) years. It really is superb.

I went with Silence of the Lambs. Brad Pitt was annoying as f**k in Se7en. If it weren't for Morgan Freeman I probably wouldn't give this movie the time of day.

I'd love to make a decision but it's proving to be very difficult.

i said Se7en because it keeps my attention more than Silence of the Lambs does. i've seen Se7en at least 5 times...i've only seen Silence of the Lambs twice.

i'm in the boat that thinks Silence of the Lambs is overrated. it was great for it's time but the times have changed.

SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. The better characters, the better story, the better performances, and, yes, the better ending ("I'm having an old friend for dinner" - so fantastic).

Both are terrific films... but I think in the end I've gotta give it to Seven.

The tension slowly built up through that movie was amazingly done, especially that feeling you get as you slowly realize the twist at the end of the movie, in those final scenes... great movie.
