I think if they're going to go with Shadow of the Bat, then they should go ahead and just make it Shadow of the Dark Knight. You'd capture largely the same feel as SotB, though with less of that B movie feel, and it would have more sequel recognition amongst the public. It's win win, in my humble opinion.
Well, I was guessing that they weren't going to finish the trilogy (if that's really all they have planned) with a title like "Batman Ends", but something about the title just sounds...off. It's not bad. It just seems like a peculiar choice.
i think some sort of Gotham title like Gotham City or Gotham Knights (or Nights) would work if the movie were about the citizens of Gotham rising up against the corruption. If the citizens were taking to the streets and fighting criminals and crooked cops and demanding justice from their mayor and DAs then the movie could be called Gotham City or Citizens of Gotham, because then the focus would be on the city. but i think the title should reflect the theme. and i'm sure The Dark Knight reflects the theme of this movie. Shadow of the Bat may be crucial to the theme of the film. Perhaps Bruce Wayne's life is engulfed in the shadow of the life of Batman. or maybe his cause is overshadowed by the popularity and celebrity of the image that is batman. maybe there are toys and a tv show and people have forgotten what the symbol of batman really means. i think the title reflecting theme idea is important for this series, so that it has depth.
I can't think of anything better than SOTB ("The Batman" would have been good were it not coming right after "The Dark Knight") but it's still a terrible title. So corny.
these movies are to be titled as they are about BATMAN/Bruce Wayne....
Batman Begins: is a simple title about 'batman' begining, and as we have hans zimmer saying that the score was not yet complete as he was not fully batman in this film, then follows TDK
The Dark Knight: shows batman becoming the hero he truly is, he is a knight to the city gotham as a knight to their kingdom... and it has been noted he gets his theme... as zimmer has said, so therefore Bruce finially Become Batman in this film.
the third i dunno... i have some titles..... as SOTB is ok with me i am not so happy nor sad if that is the title.... but there is better
The Batman
The Dark Knight Rises
Batman: Duality
Batman: Legends of the Bat / Legends of the Dark knight / The Dark Knight Legends
Batman Forsaken / The Dark Knight Forsaken
Chronicles of The Dark Knight / The Dark Knight Chronicles
Well that's the trouble, we can't really debate properly about a title till we know what the rough plot is for the 3rd. SOTB is, speaking on a purely anesthetic level, pretty awful though.
Did anyone every think there was a reason for the title Shadow of the Bat? Maybe it means something.
Batman Begins: well duh it means his begining.
The Dark Knight: Batman becomes the legend he wanted to become when the crime in Gotham gets darker.
Shadow of the Bat: maybe it has something to do with gotham bein under the protection of the shadow of Batman. Or I know Nolan said he wouldn't be there but it could be Robin that lives in the shadow of the bat.
One thought about the 3rd title: I don't think it should have "Dark Knight" in it at all. Otherwise it seems like a sequel to TDK, leaving BB out of the pattern.
Okay, well, I guess I get to be the Negative Nancy here:
Who the **** is Anjow and how the **** does he know anything?
Why would they even begin on the third movie when the second isn't even done filming? That's just straight up being cocky. I don't buy it.

And as for the third film, for a big budget trilogy like they seem to have planned, it makes perfect sense. I wouldn't be surprised to see that a script is ready by the end of 2008.
Since Two Face is going to be the main villain in the third movie, how about calling it "The Long Halloween"? Sounds way better than Shadow of the Bat IMO.

No cause fans are gonna say the story has nothing to do with The Long Halloween and then they´ll go on saying the movie ruined the book and whining will go on and on for years to come
Well the new Halloween movie is coming out soon, so that pretty much rules out that title.
I'd love "I, Joker" or just "The man who laughs", I suppose you can guess who I'd like to see be the star of part 3.

I really wish the title "Batman Forever" hadn't been taken by that crappy movie, because it's perfect for this series, and I think it's a really awesome awesome title.
Batman Begins...the story of how Bruce Wayne came to be the Batman.
The Dark Knight...Batman raises the stakes in his war on crime in Gotham andlearns to deal with the duality of being both Bruce Wayne AND Batman.
Batman Forever...Bruce continues his war on crime and comes to terms with the fact that his war may never end or be won.
Maybe it's just me but I love that title, and it sucks because that title has barely to do with the movie it was actually used for. I know there were things that were cut out of Batman Forever, but even so. I feel it would be more justifiable if it were to be used for this series. But of course...too late now.
