The Dark Knight Shadow of the Bat - Goodies

I'm tired of all the "Returns" flicks.

Batman Returns, Return of the Joker, Return of the King, Return of the Jedi, Revenge of the Sith (shut up, it still has that vibe to it :cmad:).

Just name it Batman 3 for God's sake. I hate the corny titles you guys come up with. :o

Aren't you forgetting the latest and lamest....

Superman Returns!

Batman: Judgment Knight

Has anyone suggested this? I'm not sure if I even like the title. My rationale is this...the play on words speaks to Harvey Dent's walk on both sides of the legal system, the subsequent brand of justice he creates as Two-Face, and Batman intervening on behalf of a much higher form of justice.

Once again, just my two cents. Let the bashing begin...

really swiss.(cheesey)

I personally like SOTB, especially if Two-Face plays a big part in the third installment. If Batman feels like he's partially responsible for what happened to him, then the title could refer to his past with the character, like a dark secret that he feels guilty about. I'd like to see something along the lines of Dark Victory, with Harvey gone missing and people (cops or mobsters) showing up dead. If done correctly, it could be really sweet, with Batman caught between trying to apprehend the murderer, while hoping, (but not quite believing) that Harvey isn't to blame...

I personally like Shadow of the Bat and Knightfall, but Knightfall seems a little to morbid for the ending of a trilogy.

How is it morbid? The title isn't "Rape, Hack, Slash, Dice". :o

i just don't think Knightfall should be used unless it pertains to the fall of Batman

Guys, I'm calling it now.

THE SHADOW OF THE BAT

I'm calling it now.

Batman scared stupid
and
Batman saves christmas

see that Robin that's a serious Robin, that Robin needs to be put in Nolan's movies because that's him definitively, and not cheesy like B:TAS but more like the TEEN TITANS robin

But Robin's probably not even born during the time of Nolan's Batman films.

 I called Robin being in the movie (Batman's shadow) before you...
I first called it here, on August 5th, actually:
Guys, I've been thinking about something...

If in fact SHADOW OF THE BAT is the working title, than perhaps it means something. Just like the Nolans have stated that the title The Dark Knight has significance, so I think we can assume that SOTB has something to do with the story. This leads me to believe one thing...Dick Grayson.

Yes, I know that Nolan has stated that Robin will never be used, but wat if he changed his mind? I can see him being introduced like he was in Dark Victory. It CAN work.

The Shadow of the Bat. Perfect title for the introduction of someone in the Batman's shadow.

Actually, I like the idea of recycling the titles of Batman stories as movies, which Nolan may have adopted to a degree with 'The Dark Knight'. I could go for a film called 'The Long Halloween' (continuing the 'escalation' theme), another called 'Dark Victory', and so on. I did a quick search of potential memorable titles that could be used this way, and of course there are plenty, including 'Broken City' (I love that one), 'The Killing Joke', 'Seduction of the Gun' (a bit lengthy, but intriguing), 'Knightfall' (probably want to stay away from overdoing the 'knight' thing though), 'Nine Lives' (purrfect for when Catwoman shows up), etc...

Robin discussion aside, DARK VICTORY would make a great title for a Batman film.

frankly it was a piss-poor title for the comic, much less a movie

But Robin's probably not even born during the time of Nolan's Batman films.

Of course he is. Batman is almost 30 in BB. Obviously Dick Grayson is born -- he's probably touring with the Flying Graysons.
