Some fans of Emily are upset with him. I saw someone sends message to him on twitter asking him to respect Emily, others think he hates her, thats why she is not in Cap-side tour. I think she is in tour because Scarlett and Elizabeth are busy.
I thought EVC was touring with team IM because they don't want to reveal that she's the double agent. And I'm glad she got to go to the Paris premiere so we can hear her speak French.

I honestly think if they wanted to keep that a secret/surprise, she should have toured with Team Cap. Nobody was even thinking she was the double agent until the press tour and then that's all anyone's assumed lol. I kind of wondered if it had more to do with the fact that so many members of Team Iron Man ended up not doing it - RDJ did a lot, but Bettany and Cheadle did a lot less (I don't even think they did any sit down interviews, just actual panels/talk shows?) and Scarjo and Boseman were completely AWOL. I think if she had toured with Team Cap she might not have gotten to talk as much as she did either.

Cool.

I'm not saying for him to read ALL the comics, that's ridiculous. But surely he has read the Brubaker run or a few comics to get a sense of his character and his character's prominent relationships in order to do justice to it where he would've known that Sharon plays a significant role in Steve's life not just Sam and Bucky.

Look at Jon Bernthal and Elodie Yung who said that as soon as they were cast they hit the comics to gain some knowledge and these actors get paid way less than Evans to do their homework.

To infer that Evans isn't a professional and hasn't done his homework because he realizes he's acting in the MCU and not in the 616 comic universe is doing him a disservice.

He's said that the relationship between Steve and Sharon is different in the comics. He's read them. But in the MCU, in the universe where he has portrayed Steve Rogers in 5 films that relationship doesn't exist in that form and what importance she has to Steve Rogers is that she's a remnant of Peggy and that Peggy represents home.

Exactly. He certainly read in preparation for Steve in the first film, to catch the essence of the character, but he didn't need to read everything if he knows it's different. He needs to focus on what's in the script. What he said is what happens in the movies. Blame the Russos and writers for having changed the characters, but not him.

Absoulutely ridiculous. Fans think they're entitled to make demands on an actor, when a lot of the time, much of what the actor does or says is dependent on others. Doubly so with an adaptation like what Chris has done.

That sucks for Chris, he had an opinion. Doesn't mean he disrespects an actress because of it. Get a grip, people!

Evans was specifically describing the comics relationship, however.

As a contrast to the MCU.

He acknowledged that Steve and Sharon had more of relationship in the comics but thought in the the MCU the more interesting relationship would be between Steve and Natasha.

As for what he said about how Sharon is tied to Peggy how deep Steve's relationship was with Peggy has changed in the comics over the years. In the recent issue where Steve is dying and he thinks of the people he loved Peggy is is in his thoughts like Sharon is.

No matter, Chris just said he thought Steve being involved with Aunt and niece was "icky" in the London Press Conference. Steve/Sharon fans will be out for his blood. :funny:

And it is a false contrast because he he describes the comics wrong.

He describes comics Steve as thinking his home is with Peggy, and that Sharon is an extension of that.

And it isn't, unless he's heavily into the earliest golden age stuff.

And Peggy hasn't, not really. She had a couple of stories where she was changed from catatonic amnesiac to '50s superspy, but not much has changed about her and Steve.

The traitor!
Haha.
I wish Chris luck.
Looks like he might need it!

Eh. RDJ would same the same about dating his employee if all Pepper got was ten minutes across two movies.

Really? Dating a long term trusted high ranking employee is icky like dating a relative of the woman your were in love with who aged 70 years while you were under ice? Nah.

You can't convey deep trust and long term familiarity with 3.5 minutes, though.

Plus, anything is comparatively weird when you append "aged 70 years while you were under ice" to it.

I mean, a lot of these movie pairings are deeply distasteful if you strip them to their bare bones.

Steve/Peggy? Military officer makes advances on their subordinate (against which there are actual laws) and then threats them with deadly weapons when they're jealous.

1000 year old alien preys on a young scientist.

More like young scientist hits elderly alien with her truck - twice - then only cares about him when he can help her with science and shows muscles. :o

No, it worked out for the best that quiet ambivert EVC toured with team IM. She would've felt left out if she toured with the extroverted frat boys.

SJ and Boseman are filming.

I'm saying Evans could be more professional and support EVC. And like what BullMcGiveny said Evans was incorrectly describing the comics where he incorrectly said that Sharon was a reincarnation of Peggy and that Peggy is home for Steve. Not in the comics. So no, it doesn't look like he has read much of the comics and done his homework.

Evans was joking and parroting the interviewer who said the word "icky". EVC did say that it could be seen as "icky" too, but to deal with it.

Well Laurie from Little Women loved two sisters romantically. Peter Pan who was in love with Wendy ended up with her granddaughter.

I wonder if Sharon will have a much bigger role in Infinity War

I am not sure if I really feel like EVC was the right choice for Sharon. She seems a bit 'blah' to me. But I only saw her in WS not much time for them to interact. Maybe in CW I will see a bit more 'spark' between them.

Who knows but in Civil War I mean fight scene wise she was able to hold her own even though she did get her ass handed to her by Bucky

I am guessing that Bucky more than holds his own with a lot of people in CW.

But with Sharon we know that she is Team Iron Man but honestly she should be on Team Cap
