Civil War Sharon carter A.K.A. Agent 13 - Part 2

They could've fleshed out Sharon A LOT more all with still letting ScarJo have the large role she did in TWS.

Here's how they should've done it, IMO...

TFA
- Sharon could've been the agent at the end who was trying to convince Steve he was still in the past

Avengers
She could've played a role in SHIELD and been in a few scenes

TWS
She should've been a known SHIELD agent, still assigned to protect Steve but not in disguise as a Nurse. Have her keep her scenes defending Cap at the end of the film. She could've taken Maria Hill's role in the film also and rescue Widow, Cap and Falcon and work with them at the end.

Avengers 2
Party scene, she could've been Steve's date

Civil War
Establish a relationship with Cap and take place in at least a battle.

Oh well though...

This! This would've been my ideal development of Sharon. To add have Steve find out about her at Peggy's funeral in TWS.

There would have to be a Captain America 4, and Steve would need to be a) alive and b) still Captain America. And even then, the director would have to choose to develop Sharon instead of keep going with Black Widow.

Emily is so pretty. Can't wait to see Sharon in CW. She had a very small but meaningful role in WS but I'd like them to further develop her. I think she could be very likable. She doesn't have powers but she's still badass and can keep up with Cap. Cap could use someone like her in the mcu. I'm hoping she'll return for Infinity Wars and I think she will.

But for CW, it looks like she again has a small role but plays that "love interest" role. She's so much more. I saw her fight Bucky but I hope she does more fighting.

Why should he have to read the comics? MCU Cap isn't 616 Cap, and MCU Sharon isn't 616 Sharon. He's not obligated to read hundreds of comics to get the backstory for a relationship that isn't the same in the movies anyway. It wouldn't do him any good. Besides, Evans's preference doesn't really matter - people in fandom will us anything they can to argue about ships, it's not on him to change his mind or not say things because people will be ***** about it to other fans.

Exactly. He certainly read in preparation for Steve in the first film, to catch the essence of the character, but he didn't need to read everything if he knows it's different. He needs to focus on what's in the script. What he said is what happens in the movies. Blame the Russos and writers for having changed the characters, but not him.

Some fans of Emily are upset with him. I saw someone sends message to him on twitter asking him to respect Emily, others think he hates her, thats why she is not in Cap-side tour. I think she is in tour because Scarlett and Elizabeth are busy.

I don't expect him to have read a lot of comics, and what he read probably came from what Marvel handed him. I'm guessing a lot of that is Avengers stuff, and some of Brubaker's stuff, which is... okay, as far as Sharon goes, at least early on, but isn't the best to learn from.

So it is very understandable ignorance.

But people are using it to bash Sharon, which is annoying. Which is annoying, but again not his fault.

I don't think there was any ill intent, but it does undermine her character. Kind of indicative of what consideration is paid her way.

I'm not saying for him to read ALL the comics, that's ridiculous. But surely he has read the Brubaker run or a few comics to get a sense of his character and his character's prominent relationships in order to do justice to it where he would've known that Sharon plays a significant role in Steve's life not just Sam and Bucky.

Look at Jon Bernthal and Elodie Yung who said that as soon as they were cast they hit the comics to gain some knowledge and these actors get paid way less than Evans to do their homework.
