I really think a continuation is better than a prequel. Underworld really doesn't deserve prequel treatment at this point.

yea i dont like the idea of a prequel. its enough that we saw the medieval flashbacks in the films as it is. doesnt warrant enough for a whole film. then again i dont know what they could possibly do as a third movie...get creative les!

These are nice solid B-action movies. These aren't classics but I bet they are cult classics (kind of like the Highlander of this generation. When anyone looks at Highlander now they see it is instant **** but at the time people loved it and it is a cult classic. The same will go for the first two Underworlds methinks).

And while the world is interesting and most of the elders are played by very good actors (they got ****ing Derek Jaccobi in Underworld 2 and I am still astonished at how they pulled that off!), the movie's strength is how endearing a character Selene is and how hot she is. The rest is interesting but is too complicated and convoluted for its own good and considering the second tried to expand on its world in less than 2 hours it only just kind of felt like "Here is some cool history. BAM, the new character that presented it is now dead though."

A prequel is not what audiences want, audiences want to see a conclusion to Selene and Michael's story. They are now essientially invincible and it is more than hinted at that she is pregnant with a full born hybrid. And all this leaves the question what will happen and how will this war end. A fine conclusion to a trilogy could be right here.

But.....a prequel instead? I think Len has overhyped the popularity and importance of his Underworld universe in his own head. No Beckinsale and no more Selene and Michael, he will most likely not see huge returns then.

10 years from now in an apocalyptic future, Vampires and Lycans rule separate nations and have taken over the lands once occupied by Humans. Vampires have claimed the skies once again after years of tampering with Marcus’ remains.

The Humans have been losing this battle. In this war they are no more than ‘live stock’ to the savage Lycans and slaves to the aristocratic Vampires. Hundreds of Humans have fled, cowering underground, forming the “Underworld”, a term used by these Resistance Fighters to describe their ‘cities’ deep beneath the ocean floor.

As the war rages between the 3 factions, Selene and Michael have joined forces with the Humans in an attempt to set the balance. It is an all out war for Supremacy.

This idea sounds pretty good. Very epic. I would prefer seeing this instead of an Underworld prequel.

I don't think that will happen i think they would want to finish a triloge first then go stright into another project.

thats intresting and maybe Selene becoming a villian and then becoming good again i just like to see Kate Beckinsale play a villian really never seen her being 'evil' lol.

Betrayed by Michael...I want to see Selene in some way, hit rock bottom and go beserk because of it and end up dying. I know it's not the best way at the moment, but in the first film she was sort of locked up, the second was more free, the third she can just go full out and go on a killing spree or something.
