SM3 Lizard Discussion

I agree with The Lizard being in Spider-Man 3...just having The Green Goblin, although a different character, might have the casual movie-goer thinking "Didn't I already see a Spider-Man vs. Green Goblin?" movie. Throwing in The Lizard is a good move. It's a foregone conclusion that Green Goblin will be in 3.

I do think that a Spidey vs. Venom movie should happen, but probably won't. I don't think they'll get to a part 4. A Venom spin-off would most likely make a ton of cash, and they could have in the 1st Venom movie Venom vs. Carnage.

4 movies would be plenty...getting in the Spider-Man 16 range you're looking at Spidey vs. Rocket Racer, Spidey vs. The Grizzly, or even worse the clone saga.

Cute.

I don't even remember a Sci-Fi Network show called The Chronicle. It must not have lasted too long - big surprise.

Profile is up for my (still in progress) Fanfic.

Suggestions/critiques welcome Liz. Differs slightly from the comics and totally the movies, but remains true at heart I think.

Cary Elwes as Connors eh? Not a bad choice. I was originally leaning towards Eric Stoltz myself, but I can see where Elwes could work as well (Not that I have any problems with Dylan Baker other that the fact that he's slightly too old for the Connors role).

Everthing looks pretty good to me, including your Gulf War scenario.

The only things I'd correct on that page are things that are the fault of the early 80's Marvel Universe handbook info on the Lizard:
Powers and Abilities:

The Lizard possesses a number of superhuman powers endowed by his reptilian form, including his superhuman strength. His powerful leg muscles enable him to clear 12 feet in a standing high jump and 18 feet in a standing broad jump. His alligator-like hide is tougher than human skin, and is capable of resisting the penetration of small caliber bullets. His reaction time is about twice that of the normal human being and he can run at speeds of up to 45 miles per hour.

Since the first edition of Marvel Universe underestimated some of the characters powers, I'd change "12 feet" to "20 feet" for the high jump, and "18 feet" to "30 feet" for the broad jump.

Also, Lizzy's reaction time is NOT "twice that of a normal human being", or else he'd be twice as slow as a human. Either change "time" to "speed", or change "twice" to "one-half", either way works.

Thanks! I'll definately fix that! You know reading that is a reminder of just how dang powerful ole Liz is.

Stolz would be a good choice, and I think Baker will do fine if given good material. I just pictured Connors to be a little younger, like you said.

i read that raimi was gonna have the lizard pop up in sm2 but decided to scrap the idea cos he wanted him to have a whole film to himself. plus if the lizard is in sm3 then ock can come back to help parker save him and then i will be very very happy :D

Lizard could be cool if they can get the special effects right, when I try to picture it though I just get a Jurrasic park Raptor in a lab coat, hehh

Yup, I've said it before and I'll say it again: more like a lizard, less like a dinosaur is better.

Cool cover, but what a cop-out on the Lizard pic -- looks like the artist just photoshopped a Jurrasic Park 'raptor.

True -- perhaps Harry Osborn will modify the GGII costume more to your liking. :D

i thought I'd post this again. It's back a few pages and I'd like to see what some newcomers think of it. :)

here's how i want it

Lizard First Phase: For this phase, Connors would be in control, but have "outbreaks".

Lizard Second Phase: This phase, Lizard would be smart enough to speak (with a hissing lisp) and have a sorta "strategy" for fighting
Lizard313.gif

Lizard Third/Final Phase (a combination of the 2 pics below but no fins): He's completely lizardy in that he cannot speak (except for hissing and screeching) and he should have a very little bit of raptor in him.

thats how i think he should evolve in the movie.

I want the Lizard to look exactly like your avatar.

I'd be fine with that.

Although, like I've said before:

I'm OK with the movie Lizard not being green

I'm OK with the movie Lizard not wearing purple pants (although he should wear pants of some kind- no naked Lizard please.)

And - even though there should be an early Lizard scene where he's wearing the lab coat, I'm OK with him tearing off the labcoat and not wearing it for the rest of the movie.

no offense but i dont want to see the lizard i think hes a weak villian i rather see shocker and another villian with him

then why post here?

BTW, Lizard is stronger than Shocker. Not to mention 1,000x cooler.

cooler right i dont belive that shocker can be made an awesome vilian shottin stuff cmon what can the lizzard do not that much like i said Shocker is coooler!!!

All that is required to beat shocker is rip his suit. Atleast with Lizard when you cut off his arm, it grows back.

Lizard > Shocker

'nuff said

I've always liked the Shocker, but he's nowhere near as interesting as Lizard with regard to visuals or action.

Shocker looks cooler than Lizard

I think he means visuals as in fighting sequences etc not just the costume etc

the way Shocker fights Spiderman is lot cooler than Lizars fighting Spiderman

Well that's debatable, especially on a SM3 Lizard thread.
