Also, wtf ever happened with August and Tig? That thread is still kinda just dangling.

August said the debt was paid after meeting the IRA's Connor.

Still hurts thinking about it. It was just so damn brutal!
Yeah, I figured that --

Gem was going to do for Tara, but I hadn't counted on it being so hands on and gruesome. A gunshot maybe, not a stabbing like that, :(

The episode is playing right now on my tv. Unser was sooooo ****ing stupid here. I just can't believe it. I had trouble accepting the death from a few weeks ago but this??!! Omg. Entirely ****ing heartbreaking. Also, wtf ever happened with August and Tig? That thread is still kinda just dangling. I dunno. I never expected the show to go this route. Not at all. But god damn if it isn't something magnificent still. Soooo Shakesperean

I almost blame him for this more than Gemma. What was his dumb ass thinking? You don't watch someone bring in a can of soda for lunch, shake it as hard as you can and then sit back and watch as it explodes on someone just trying to enjoy their ****ing lunch! :argh:

Well... he shook Gemma up alright. And she exploded all over the back of Tara's ****ing head.

I agree. Unser only knew half of the story and incorrectly filled in the blanks for an ever unstable Gemma. That broad is downright vicious on a chill day, what was he thinking?

wow, just finished it and holy **** that was insane. I really hope we get the ending we all want for Juice, a rat is alway a rat, he deserves Mr. Mayham than any other character. Gemma should be put in a hole to rot for eternity or Jax should just pick up and move to Belfast with Maureen who is an actual rational thinking person. I'm floored just wow, never actually had my jaw drop during a show.

"Tara was partially responsible for her death because she believed in love in a situation where love cannot exist. Had she just run, she would have found a better life for her sons, but she hesitated, she couldn't betray the man she still loved." -Siff

The dove of peace being run over by the bike.

Karma. An innocent wife for an innocent wife. Juice and Gemma now have a lot in common.

So, I see the people on IMDB have started a nice little b****-athon.

Also, does it remind anybody else of Lem's death on The Shield? It's like that one defining moment in the third act of the series that defines it for the rest of the series.
It did remind me of Lem's death. It also reminded me of Donna's death, because in both cases, it was all for nothing.

Now I'm gonna laugh if he's dead before the opening credits of the premiere. :funny:

He probably will die sooner or later, but I can see Sutter leaving him alive.

The bird at the start.... I can't see where the real bird was switched for the exploding one....

About what, exactly? I mean, the show has me some emotionally invested that I am really cheering for Gemma and Juice to die horribly, but that speaks to how the show is doing everything RIGHT.

The guys on IMDB ***** about everything. There were a lot of negative posts after Breaking Bad's finale, and during the final season.

Screw that place. It's the last place for idiots to go that have been banned from every other message board on the internet. Best to just ignore them.

I'd like to think they'd get in serious trouble if they really ran over a live bird like that. :(

Oh I have no doubt it was a fake one... Purely as i would have thought the bird would have flown off if a loud bike approached it.

You know, one thing I didn't particularly like about what happened, is I really don't like how [blackout]went out like such a *****. She was a tough lady, and we really only saw her get tougher over the last two seasons. It seems so weird to me that she didn't try to fight back at all, only tried to run away. Not that I think she could take Gemma, she's probably the physically stronger of the two, and she was clearly enraged, but man, I wish she would've at least fought back[/blackout]

Kind of a nitpick, but that thought was in the back of my mind during the whole scene.

She did try to fight back. Gemma was just so drunk and enraged that she had Taras head in the sink before she could put up much of a fight. Thats another thing that makes the scene so hard to watch. Its over so quick. There is no moment where you think "kick her ass, tara!" Instead its like "Oh **** oh god NOOOOO!!!"

She didn't, though?

[blackout]She saw Gemma, and then started to run away. Then Gemma was just sort of all over her. She made no attempt at all to brace herself, or anything like that. She struggled with her head under water, yeah, but that's not what I meant.[/blackout]

The way I look at it, Gemma's been in this life 30+ years. Shes been in her share of scraps. Tara's though been in this life for a good amount, at the end of the day, she's a doctor.

Even if Tara tried to fight back, she wouldn't have stood a chance.

Tara saw Gemma, could tell she was on something what with that crazy look in her eye, turned around to get help and just got overtaken by Gemma's rage.

She had no time to put up a fight as it all happened so quick...

Well, as I said, I do think Gemma would win in a physical confrontation. I think that's clear. But that really isn't the point. If you look at the other major deaths in the series, I'm thinking specifically of Opie and Clay, there was a strength in their deaths, even if their deaths weren't notable or anything like that. Tara may not have been the aged biker gal that Gemma was, but we've seen her became a very strong character, especially over the last two seasons (Recall the fight she had in prison when she bent that one woman nearly to death with her cast). It wasn't that I wanted Tara to kick her ass, I could see this was the point that Tara was going to die. I just hate that she went out so pitifully, when we've seen her be much stronger than that in the past. I'm not sure if that was part of the point, but it was a bit of nagging point for me

Yeah that is some boo****. I hate that the Globes and Emmys are so snobby.

SoA has never gotten much awards attention - just Sagal for best actress during season 3.

I weep...

This show should be getting noms for best series, writing, and acting for Hunnam, Sagal and Jimmy Smits. Charlie Hunnam's acting ability has really excelled in the past couple years. He's really improved acting with his eyes and it's given an incredible edge to Jax. You can always tell something calculating is going on in Jax's brain and it comes out later on when he's wheeling and dealing or double crossing someone.

I love the show as much as anyone and think it's underrated (even though it has insane viewership numbers) by critics. However, I do recognize the issues people have with the plotting or other things - I don't think those hurt the show as much as others do.

Hunnam's been fantastic, but he does struggle with his accent. Smits should have gotten a supporting nod, though.

Sons is that kind of show that is too popular and doesn't really need awards, anyway. I don't mean to make it sound like a conspiracy or anything. Looking at this list...

Best TV Series (Drama):
"Breaking Bad"
"Downton Abbey"
"The Good Wife"
"House of Cards"
"Masters of Sex"

I'd easily put Sons above the mediocre 3rd season of Downton Abbey and just a bit above Masters of Sex. I haven't seen The Good Wife, and while I liked House of Cards I don't think it's top 5. My tops would be:

Breaking Bad
Enlightened
Justified
Orange Is the New Black
Sons of Anarchy
