Sure hoss. Whatever you say. When you see them in the movie do not forget to tell yourself that they forgot to edit them out.

Well, they are in the stunt where he fights the criminal... so I guess they will be in the movie:csad: But still, that could be just for the wrestling? and later he improves the suit so he doesn't have to wear them

because if they were simply for stunt work, you wouldn't have your principal actor wearing them for close-ups as well and Garfield is clearly wearing them for his close-ups.

This is Andrew in the suit.

actually, Andrew does some of the stunts too, if you didn't know already.
But yeah, doesn't matter, I already believe that those shoes will make it too the movie

in the official picture the blues and reds were very dark in all the leaked photos the blues and reds are very bright. a camerman has specifically said the colours are made brighter so the 3D cameras can better pick out the colours so you have to assume in post the colours will be darken down again so they match the official pic.

how anyone can say the lighting will make no difference to the outfit is beyond me. as for the extras like the strip down the leg, I dont have a problem with them.

I disagree, man. I mean, it seems more logical to make it more baggy rather than spandex. It ifts better in terms of realism.

not only that, in terms of realism, uhm aren't most outfits worn by the army kinda baggy?

I posted this on the manips thread... this is just an attempt on how the suit will look with cinematic tweaks! peace!

Many of you say that it's not anything else but the design that you hate. Well, I read some comments that this pic got and I think this is proof that most of you don't actually hate the design even thou you say so, you hate how it looks in those recent pics.

The pics we have seen are from a night scene, and those pics look like they're from a day scene. So that's proof that it's not at all in the lighting that they intended. And that's why I believe that this is even nearly what it will look like in the actual movie

If you have some theories that prove me wrong, please tell me

That's it. Justification. Why does the suit look the way it does. What purpose do the modifications and deviations from the classic design serve.

Regardless of the fact that it's not even the same suit, how many people have read (or ever will read) or remember "With great power..."? It's another in a long line of origin retellings and costume changes that've been made in Spidey's history. The only difference is, that those are usually one shot deals or mini-series. This is a big budget, motion picture reboot of one of the most iconic and beloved characters in pop culture. Kinda poor justification.

Here is a picture of Spider-man from "With Great Power..."

I think this is simply a case of the director not liking the Spider-man costume and feeling he can make it better and more hip, hence the silver shoes, dark groin, blue palms, etc.

I agree, although the new costume looks cool in it's own way it's simply not a good as Raimi's. As long as the film delivers a good Spidey film then I'll be please because I can easily over look the new costume.

The artwork looks alright. Reminds me very much of Mike Weiringo (though not as good).

I'm not sure what it proves though. I along with many other people have never heard of, nor will we ever read this "else worlds" mini-series. So whatever his initial "wrestling" costume is, is abandoned for the classic suit (as always). So again, this question is not specifically directed towards you, but what is the logic in clamoring that the reboot costume is so similar to one used for a few pages in a mini-series book? I don't think it's a very good justification that just because a costume that resembles the movie one (somewhat) appears in a few pages in a book, that somehow validates the reboot one as being "from the comics".

I just don't get fanboy logic (again, not directed specifically at you).

But yes, changes made for the sake of changes, to me represent zero restraint or creativity. Here's hoping the story/characterization is great!

The picture I posted is the costume he wears from issue one to issue five.
There aren't any additional costumes. The movie costume is Webb's own creation and I'm sure he'll lend that same creativity to the story.

Isn't this from 'With great power...'?

Ah, my mistake, that was his wrestling costume and it lasted like a couple of pages in the mini series so I completely forgot it. I still don't see any purpose it serves to use his wrestling outfit as the template for the final costume.

So wait...Wrestling costume...? Wrestling Shoes...?Makes since right? I wonder if Webb might pull a batman begins/dark knight and change the suit the next movie?? This is a new franchise, probably going to be another trilogy. The reason might be different for changing the costume in the movie rather "practicality" as some seem to argue, could just be for the sake of design, a lot of heroes costumes have changed to "keep up with the 'now'." Spideys suit might change, am I counting on it? No, personally, I like the costume. Its different, unexpected, refreshing.

How do you know it is the final costume?

It may just be in this film.

Sets it apart from the previous series while still being able to say it's comic-inspired. Seems to be the train of thought they went with.

How about that the Mannip conveniently hides away all the design flaws in shadow?

^

Yeah, it was just not the Superman film people deserved after the hiatus since the crapfest that was Superman 4. Brandon Routh did his worst Chris Reeves impersonation, and again, Lex Luthor.

I'm really hoping for Doomsday. I would be ecstatic.

Its not his fault though. It was a sequel to Superman II, and that's what they wanted; a continuation to the older film. It sucks that he wasn't given the chance to make Superman his own and was directed to imitate a previous (and sorry, not to mention outdated) interpretation.

Then perhaps they should go with the Superman Red/Blue costume for the next installment. Hey, it's comic-inspired, isn't it? And it would definitly differentiate the new movie from Superman Returns. :whatever:

I don't know if it's the final costume, but logic dictates that it would serve no purpose for Peter to have different costumes in every Spider-man film, nor does it make sense to create a ridiculously expensive basketball costume just to throw it away after just a few scenes, and then change back to the classic costume for the rest of the film. I genuinely feel this is the costume they're going to go with.

There are ways they could have done that with such a huge departure. This is just typical mindless creative license. Anyone remember Batman forever?

You're right it wouldn't make sense if they did that in multiple movies but for this movie it's fine its an origin movie for christ sake. Also what about The wrestling costume from the first Spider-Man? it was used in a couple of scenes and then poof it's gone. The costume you see is a wrestling costume I mean sneakers? a web shooter that sticks out that much? Also do you think Sony would show you all the goods a year before the movie comes out? ehhhh logic dictates that it is a no go and IF it is the costume they go with then expect it too be torn apart by the lizard and expect the classic to come in the second one. Nuff said.
