I still do not like the design, however.
So, if he has some metal-ish shoes, and things on his fingers, is anyone else MILDLY concerned that he doesn't actually have the power to stick to things?

They wouldn't do something that stupid.....oh **** who am I kidding of course they would.

As for the new pic the suit does feel more finished. Much better than in those set pics. Still not 100% about the suit but I'm loving the poses they're getting Spidey into. Also does anyone else think the webshooters are a little too noticeable? Mark my words at some point in the move someone is gonna rip those webshooters off him.

i don't mind them actually, they... Kinda suit the overall "high-tech" feel of the suit:

Pic looks great, I don't think he is going to have any powers though...wasn't his parents secret agents or something in the comics? possibly he finds in the loft a bunch of spy gadgets such as sticking to wall thingymejigs left by the parents and adopts all the stuff into the Spider-Man thing....like others have said I may be overeacting to a "design" but it certainly strikes me weird he has these silver boots, and now the bits on the end of the finger tips. I can't see how any of this stuff would "aid" the powers, I wouldn't like Spider-man without the powers and instead ultra realistic...hopefully nothing! *fingers crossed*

God I love this suit. At first I wasn't too much of a fan when they revealed the first photo, but this photo just got me really excited. I like the details on the finger tips and the colors work beautifully. I think I like it better than the Raimi suit. It's just fresh, cool, and different. And I know that doesn't automatically make it good, but in this case at least for me, it does. Well done to the designers. Still would like to see a belt of some sort though.

The texture is really inverted from a basketball, it's more like a golf ball.

Or honeycomb - you know, the idea Raimi's crew came up with for their suit.

Nope you're wrong, they're going to use the plot from Spider-man :Turn off the dark, where he get's his powers from the spider-godess Arachne instaed of a radioactive spider bite.

No... I'm not joking.... that's the origin in the musical.

Ha, I figured those black pads on his gloves were triggers for the web shooters--and based on how he's got his fingers pressed against them, I that's correct.

He looks great in that shot. The gold eyes are neat change of pace, as are most of the changes.

Yeah, it looked like dull wax stuffed with cotton instead. This suit actually looks like cloth that shows the actor's real musculature. A little sheen doesn't damage that.

And I guess I'm in the minority on liking the silver lining on the shoes. They kinda look like sneakers, which I'm sure would be great for running around. Very sleek and very nice. It's crazy how much I didn't want them to make this movie at the start and now I'm actually really pumped for it. I haven't been this excited for a Spider-Man movie since Spider-Man 2. Spider-Man 3 sounded like crap from the start.

where do you guys come up with this stuff? of all the things to worry about in a a spider man movie, you think theyre gonna turn him into the effin bionic commando? and thats based on the suit?

good god man. there are lots of looney theories (on both sides) of this suit issue.
