^ Yup.

The only change I can POSSIBLY see him making, is the inclusion of a belt.

But that's the only change.

Well, the Batman example is kinda stupid. You don't go from armor to tights. But this costume is already pretty close to the comic costume. The only thing that would need to be changed are the segmented gloves, an added belt and removing the lines from the legs.

I mean, come on, that's less of a change than the costume change from BB to TDK.

If they're going with the practical route, I think they'll only add a belt.

Which I wouldn't be against, it would be simple to explain as they could have a scene where Peter runs out of webbing mid-swing, or in battle.

Well, I don't mean an actual belt. But having the red part go all around his waist.

The lack of belt and those eyes are my two biggest criticisms. Its got nothing to do with not being faithful to the comics. They both just look weird.

EDIT: The silver things on his feet suck too.

Sadly, I don't think the costume will change. If the story is good, I'll overlook it.

:whatever:
Peter Parker has never been fat, despite some cosplays you may have seen.

And I'm not saying image makes no difference, what I'm saying is the differences in Webb's costume are so minor that the complaints about it are ridiculous when it still clearly looks like Spider-Man.

Get over it.

Peter Parker has never altered his original suit. There. Now both are arguments have equal merit.

The costume sucks end of story. I get that Mark wanted to separate his version of spidey from Raimi's . But come on this is just awful the eyes are wired looking, the spider emblem legs are just way to big and the costume itself just doesn't look faithful to the comics.

And what's up with the sliver tip heels on the sloe of the boots ?

Lets move away from this. If this movie was faithful to the comics, the first villain would be The Chameleon.

If you don't know how to spell the directors name, your opinion doesn't count. :oldrazz:

:awesome:

I disagree. The faithfulness to the comic book SHOULD be there, but also mixed in with your own ideas. If you ask me, Sam Raimi handled that perfectly. I hope I can say the same for this film.

red portions similar (not necessarily identical) to the comics - check
webbing on the red portions - check
blue - check
trademark eye shape - check
emblem on the front and the back - check

other than the belt not connecting to the front, the stripes going down his legs, and the white sneaker look on his shoes......this costume is pretty damn faithful. however, i find it ironic that a person who has a Batman Begins avatar is complaining that a costume isn't uber faithful to the comics.

This suit looks ok in images but damn does footage sell it. Just like Begins/TDK, these suits are damn sexy in action...

B**ching about how the suit isn't faithful is really really silly.

I like the suit

it's sort of a clash between LIVE TV spidey and UNLIMITED spidey

I can respect that :)

A note on costume redesigns, from Batman to X-Men, Spider-Man, and Superman: I expect them to look different; I want them to look different; I'am all for updating something that is considered classic and timeless for today's modern audiences. In the end, it all comes down to the execution: does it speak the character as who and what he/she is? Does it fit the requirements? In any way, shape or form; will I accept it? If it's all or even mostly yes, that's all that matters.

Boy, you're getting desperate now. So, when McFarlane draws big eyes on Spider-man that counts as a design change? LOL!

Yup, Webb's version only has minor changes. How people are able to spot them is beyond me!

When the eyes change, yes, it's a design change since the eyes of the suit are FROM THE SUIT. So, yes, eyes going from big and round to more of what Sam Raimi did is a costume design change. As well with the underarm webbing. Those two are all part of the costume and if you don't think such then you're not thinking straight my friend. It may as well be a writer's liability to change what they must, but it's still departing itself from the usual way we see of Spidey.

I'm not saying they aren't very small changes, but when you see the suit, you will still think of him as Spider-Man, even if the gloves are different, the boots are different and there are some subtractions on the suit but also additional stuff to it. It still looks like Spider-Man, albeit not as comic-friendly as Raimi's, but it does look similar to some of Spidey's other costumes and also to Ben Reilly.

Now, sure did Webb have to change the suit just for the sake of changing? No, and I will say 'no', but I am liking the suit a lot myself. It fixed some problems I had with Raimi's suit, but I am liking the additional stuff to it. Say I'm not a true fan if I like the new suit, I don't care, I do like it.

Before TDK came out, I predicted Ledger would have a major influence on the comics version of the Joker.

Everyone else was like "Naaaaw man, that's not gonna happen."

TDK's Joker is playing a major part in comics these days with the look.

And even if the relaunch of Batman isn't very close to TDK's version, the gloves are looking more like TDK's suit. Shame though, they decided to give Superman the armored look though instead of Bats.
