And...the original has been altered...even just a little. The eyes always change shape and he rarely has the webbing in the underarms anymore.
To be fair, those were minor changes. SPider-Man's suit has always had the basic design. The spdier on the chest adn back as well as the eyes have only be altered a little bit over the years. And the blue on the costume has been lightened and darkened over the years. No drastic change.

I have no problem admitting that original issues I had have subsided once I've seen suit it a "proper" fashion - ie: I really didn't care for the curvy red going down his arms, nor the huge indent between his shoulder blades. But once I saw the picture of him crouching (from the EW mag), I dug it - it looks as if the red is a "web" thats been stretched over him. So I can dig some aspects (I really like the colors and the texture of it all as well), and some things, I've got no opinion on (silver shoes).

I don't have a problem with change. Change can be good. Change can also be bad. Both sides of this coin are evident in this costume.

Webb's version has only minor changes as well. People think too much into this suit.

See, I don't even mind the boots anymore. As I said, it's probably ACTUAL boots just with the suit wrapped around it. No teen's going to be able to have proper footwear in a suit, so it makes sense to use a real boot.

Please now the designer isn't a fan of Spidey. Tell me, how does any of the nitpicks of the design take away from Spidey as a character?

You can't answer because it doesn't.

Why not hire some fat dude to play Peter if image makes no difference to you? It's the film that counts, right?

He didnt say that the suit design takes anything away from Spidey.

I remember during the first Raimi movie Marvel and Sony were trying to get a suit that wasnt comic faithful and he had to fight to get the classic design

The studio got their wish, finally!

So it's not the original suit that we've seen for years, is that such a big problem that people should complain over and over without respecting the fact that Webb wanted to change for a reason?

And, what awfully important reason would that be?

Boy, you're getting desperate now. So, when McFarlane draws big eyes on Spider-man that counts as a design change? LOL!

Yup, Webb's version only has minor changes. How people are able to spot them is beyond me!

What a hypocritical jest. Larger or smaller eyes and the absenceof webbed underarms is just as big, or little, as the changes in this film's suit.

"OMG NO BELT! AND...IS THAT SILVER SHOE LINING!?"

If you wanna play quantity Webb's suit has more changes.

Yup, bigger eyes is equivalent to what Webb has done, lol! Certainly, you recognize the difference between artist interpretation and actual alteration, right? Even the absence of webbing under his arms after 40+ plus years is not an actual alteration, because the very next artist can draw them right back having to write in an explanation.

:whatever:
Peter Parker has never been fat, despite some cosplays you may have seen.

And I'm not saying image makes no difference, what I'm saying is the differences in Webb's costume are so minor that the complaints about it are ridiculous when it still clearly looks like Spider-Man.

Get over it.

But that's just the thing. it isn't that minor. maybe a few things are, but barely minor. The changes are very noticeable, unfoirtuantely. With Raimi's, raised silver webbing was a minor change and that's it.

sorry but I can never take an argument seriously that tries to tell people to get over it.

Blue finger tips, leg stripes and silver soles are all minor changes. Yes, minor.

What can I say, get over it. Can't control how people express their points.

I don't get why some people are acting like this is some crazy and out there variation of the suit.

It's still recognizably a Spider-Man suit. It's not the Spider-Man suit we know from the comics, but for Webb's Spider-Man, it IS THE Spider-Man suit.

I for one hope that they don't change it, I like it. It's a modern twist on a classic.

Nobody is acting that way. It's just the fact that some of the changes were unncessary. Such as the red stripes and belt. I think everybody has learned to accept the suit overall even if we don't love it.

Oh boy, you should see some of the comments on Facebook. lol.

The belt thing was weird, it initially looked kind of incomplete without it... but now I'm cool with it.

And I never had a problem with the red stripes. lol.

The motorcycle gloves, boots, no belt, and red stripes still bother me a little, but I'm learning to ignore it.

because its not something someone interested in a conversation would say....its a nicer version of "shut the **** up"

To me, the suit is still a work in progress type of thing. If it doesn't change be the end of the movie, I'm sure, as they keep producing sequels, the suit will start to look more closely to the comic.

the more I hear that...the more I laugh.
People said that about the BB suit, then the Heath Joker look and then TDK suit

I've never seen a movie that started with a non comic look and evolved into a comic look
